Several couple shots of Park Shin-hye and Jung Yong-hwa from their upcoming MBC drama "Heartstrings" have been revealed.

Through a press release on Thursday, the show's broadcaster unveiled six Polaroid shots showing Park and Jung posing as their characters Lee Kyu-won and Lee Shin, respectively, which were taken during the shoot for the series' poster last month.

"Heartstrings" tells the story of Lee Kyu-won (played by actress Park Shin-hye) who is studying Korean traditional music and is an expert in gayageum (Korean harp), while Jung plays the role of Lee Shin, the lead singer of a band who wins over the hearts of all the girls on campus.

19.05.2011 The main lead of SBS's 2009 drama, You're Beautiful, Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye will act together again for the MBC upcoming summer drama Heartstrings. Because of the great success of You're Beautiful all over the Asia, many You’re Beautiful fans are already buzzing over the possibility of another drama with Yonghwa and Shin Hye. The production team of Heartstrings published some photos today, it is said that the two were a little bit shy at the start but got intimate shortly.

Heartstrings' young and energetic cast includes Jung Yong Hwa, Park Shin Hye, Song Chang Ui and Kang Min Hyuk, since Yong Hwa and Shin Hye were originally paired from SBS's 2009 drama, You're Beautiful, this new drama has already drawn a lot of attentions and every on-location filming attracted numerous fans. Yong Hwa and Shin Hye were filming in a local college on 16th, dressing like university students. The two showed some embarrassment initially, one of the production crew said, but got intimate quickly, mingled with each other and the entire team. It is good to have huge support from local and foreign fans since the confimation of the cast, please look forward to seeing the pair in Heartstrings.
Heartstrings' original run will be on 29.6.2011

The popular Korean drama series "You're Beautiful" is getting a remake in Japan, titled "Ikemen Desu ne." The show will star actress Takimoto Miori (19), along with Kis-My-Ft2 members Tamamori Yuta (21) and Fujigaya Taisuke (23) and Hey! Say! JUMP member Yaotome Hikaru (20).

The original Korean version aired in 2009 and starred Park Shin Hye, Jang Keun Suk, Lee Hong Ki, and Jung Yong Hwa. The story revolved around a fictional boy band named A.N.JELL. Park Shin Hye played a nun-in-training who has to pose as her twin brother and take his place in the group, leading to a complicated relationship between the group's members.

The series has also been huge in Japan, where it has aired multiple times on television and led Tsutaya's rental charts for Korean dramas last year.

The Japanese remake has been in the works since last spring. Takimoto, who starred in NHK's morning drama "Teppan" this past year, will fill the shoes of Park Shin Hye. Tamamori will play Jang Keun Suk's part.

Woori takes on Park Shin-hye as a rival

MBC’s You’ve Fallen For Me (aka Festival, aka HeartStrings) has finished its main casting with the addition of Woori (Crime Squad, Supermom), which means she’ll face off against heroine Park Shin-hye in claiming the affections of the hero (Jung Yong-hwa).

Woori’s character has been in love with Jung Yong-hwa since high school, while being in the receiving end of idol-actor Kang Min-hyuk’s (It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl) affections. Looks like she’s not the gracious kind of second lead; she’s described as the type to heap curses on our heroine’s head. I look forward to watching how she tries to thwart their twoo wuv, to no avail. (It’s a K-drama; that much is a given, no?)

I’ve been approaching this drama with wariness, because I just haven’t had a lot of faith in its cast, even with the inclusion of Song Chang-eui. I haven’t written them off, either, seeing as how Dream High was able to make the most of a green, idol-laden cast of acting newbies — but on the flipside, It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl is an example of the pitfalls of that same scenario. But I’d also forgotten that this is the work of PD Pyo Min-soo, who has certainly proven he can put out popular product (Full House), as well as more introspective work (Insoon Is Pretty, The World They Live In). He also melded comedy with quirk in last year’s Coffee House.

PD Pyo expressed his confidence in Woori, saying, “She resembles [respected and now-retired actress] Shim Eun-ha” …which I might feel better about had Shim not sucked in her newbie days. (She’s one of Korea’s favorite leading actresses, even years after her retirement, and really came into her talent later on — but have you seen Last Match1.5?M? Green, green, green. Beautiful, but totally awkward. If you’d have said she’d grow into a top star lauded for her acting back then, I’d have said you were betting on the wrong horse.)
