October 9 marks an important day in Korea: Hangul Day (or the Korean Alphabet Day). Hangul Day commemorates the creation of the Korean alphabet, which is the native alphabet of the Korean language. Hangul was created by King Sejong the Great in 1447.
Many celebrities took time out of their day to pay tribute to the beauty and greatness of Hangul by uploading photos and messages onto their various SNS accounts.
