You have a new TV project coming up. Can you tell us what it's about?
The new SBS TV show "Heirs" that is going to be aired this year is a teen romance drama. For this show, I am going to be working with director Kang Shinhyo and writer Kim Eunsook. I star as a character named Kim Tan.
What sort of character will you be playing this time?
Last time in "Faith," I played a general during the Koryo Dynasty. This time, I also go back to the past and will be acting as a high school student. I can't reveal too much yet, but you will be able to check out the show soon!
What's it like to be paired again with Park Shin Hye?
I worked with her for a TV commercial a few years ago. This is my first time to do [a TV show] with her. The female leads that I've worked with were always older than me, but since she is younger than me, it feels somewhat different and new.

CNBlue’s Lee Jong Hyun Denies Casting Rumors for “Heirs”



Recently, news media source TV Report claimed that CNBlue‘s Lee Jong Hyun was set to be cast for the upcoming SBS drama “Heirs.”

“Heirs” has received a lot of buzz for its writer and cast. Kim Eun Sook, who wrote “Secret Garden” and “A Gentleman’s Dignity,” will pen “Heirs,” and actors Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Choi Jin Hyuk, and Kim Woo Bin have been confirmed for the cast. So with the news of Lee Jong Hyun’s addition, the excitement grew, but now Lee Jong Hyun’s agency, FNC Entertainment, has denied the casting rumor.

FNC stated to MBN Star News, “We didn’t even get a casting offer.”

Interestingly, fellow CNBlue member Jung Yong Hwa was supposed to star in this drama, but he later dropped the show due to conflicts about his character between his agency and the drama production team.

“Heirs” is slated to air in October of this year.

After "City Hunter," what is next?

I just finished shooting a period piece called "The God." And then the next one, I'll be shooting starting next month, is a teen romance TV show called "The Heirs." I play a 19-year-old high school student. This is the first time I'll be wearing a uniform again after "Boys Over Flowers," so I'm excited, and for the fans as well to see it.


How do you take care of yourself?

I'm actually in preparation for the new show, because I'm going to start shooting soon. I have been working out. It's not really a diet, but I avoid food I probably shouldn't eat. Nothing too extreme, but I do work out.

Previously, Krystal of f(x) was being considered for a role in the anticipated SBS drama starring Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye. She had since been considering the role and working out her schedule. It has now been confirmed that Krystal will be starring in the Gossip Girl-esque drama about the tribulations of a high school populated by the extremely rich.

This will be Krystal's first dramatic role, after previously acting in the 2010 sitcom More Charming By The Day and the wildy successful 2011 sitcom High Kick 3. Krystal was specifically sought after by the PD. Her character is said to have a strong and youthful personality.

Heirs also will star Choi Jin Hyuk and Kim Woo Bin, who just came off the very successful School 2013. It will be written by the writer of A Gentlemen's Dignity and Secret Garden. Heirs is currently scheduled to begin airing in October.
