I don't know and can't tell if our celebrity couple PSH and JGS are into more than a 'special' relationship. On his recent Beijing FM, he denied having any girlfriend. so don't have any conclusion whatsoever. Be that as it may, JGS is soaring, his achieving more popularity, getting his name out there, promoting, ambitious, and enjoying himself. His agency is theirs, which is a plus.

this last question, i think, should be addressed to earthprincess because the BBC test was only done in that one room. as for Maize's theory, that one isn't mimicry but some kind of covert/indirect conversation between SH and KS through their web entries, i think.

i like your observation re JH and SH, i didn't notice those. good job july! have to check on those again.

am one of those stars who thinks SH fits/looks well with whoever she's with. shoots i even dream of SH and HK going beyond friendship! (sorry girls! hehehe!) and yeah i love SH with JH, and LSG, and JJH, and Lee Wan, and Bongji, and her bulky YB suitcase! i just want her to be happy! with or without a man beside her! we all do i believe!

regarding July's observations - i too don't think they were bf/gf during YB, nor are they now. KS's behavior tells me that he likes her lots. KS's possessiveness & jealousy surfaces when he sees SH with YH in the scenes mentioned. his main downfall is that he is an emotional & controlling person. HK is ok cos' they are buddies, YH is a threat cos' they are not close & his interaction with her is more girl/boy, not buddy/buddy. always got that feeling that he doesn't want her to get too close to other guys because it may lead to something more, then he is out of the game. I'm reminded of animals seeking mates. the male puts his mark on the female to indicate to the others that she is his property. KS has on SH. he drops remarks here & there about SH. he seems to want her to remain a free agent until he is "ready?" you could say that he has given us the impression that there is something(whatever that is) between them & that she is "his." i think she may have difficulty meeting someone who will openly express an interest in her cos' she is on his radar.

and now with the event in Japan, he is further cementing his claim on her. where are the other 2 ANJELL members?

Hi July! My, albeit very long answers, to your questions for me. Sorry if I induce further confusion than enlightenment. My brain's a little fried today.

This is correct July. I was not trying to establish a relationship between them but more like correlating their actions to a possible scale of the relationship. Think of it as a spectrum from casual --> interpersonal. The observed mimicry I am seeing between them resembles that of people in interpersonal relationships. So, I made the assumption that the depth of their relationship is exactly that , interpersonal. As to identifying what it is, bf/gf, bestfriends, etc, is beyond the scope of ethical psychology, meaning we cannot make further assumptions. Confirming exactly what relationship they are in is not for observers like us to speculate but for themselves to admit.

Not sure I understand the statement above. But, in what I think I understand, yes many studies in Psychology already prove non-conscious behaviors, usually due to emotion, are automatic and not prompted by conscious thoughts. It becomes a reflex so to speak. Reason is one thing but schools of thought in Psychology maintain that emotions are physiological and more often than desired, irrational. Therefore, emotions spur more action than thought. Net-net, when you feel something you are more likely to act more on it than to think of what to do with the feeling. (Side note: an experiment not mine proved the biological underpinnings of attraction and separately of mimicry. The brain does this cool color-coded reactions due to dopamine, serotonin and endorphins firing in select areas of the amygdala – the emotion center and the left-hemisphere, the reason center.)

So, this becomes related to your other observation on KS’s “reactions” against JH and SH’s interaction. The point I’m trying to make is that if KS does not feel anything or something for SH then why is there an explicit reaction for a seemingly casual interaction. If we probably give KS a few seconds to think and let reason take over, he will not be doing the same stuff, but he doesn’t have the luxury of those few seconds. (yea, the speed by which he reacted will be something I would’ve coded for happily if he was in my experiment, since he will be proving my point so wonderfully)

Additionally, relating this and comparing KS's vs LHK’s interactions toward SH, yes, LHK and SH actions also are in the interpersonal end of the spectrum, so I can say they also have a “special relationship”. But it appears less emotionally charged as KS’ interactions with SH. We see less of that “huh, why would Hongstar do that?” reactions from LHK in their BTS, just plain friendly and comfortable banter similar to that of close siblings or best friends.


Regarding Maize theory, whether that is mimicry or non-conscious, I wouldn’t know. I think Maize Theory, if I’m not mistaken, is trying to prove that these two are in constant contact to the point that they are consciously updating each other’s hompys within a certain timeframe. For people to be in that constant contact and to be posting messages seemingly related to each other’s messages can only attest further to the interpersonal scale of their relationship.
