Originally released in 2000, the Nike Air Presto became famous for its irreverent advertising, alpha sizing and ahead-of-its-time sock-like construction.

In the decade and a half since, the shoe has transcended performance running to become a sport style fixture. Now, 16 years after its introduction, Nike is updating the icon with new materials and technology. The result is the Nike Air Presto Ultra Flyknit.

The shoe’s signature one-to-one fit becomes even more profound through the use of Flyknit in the upper, which delivers stretch in the collar, ventilation in the toe and tongue, and support in the heel and underneath the toecap.

In another first for the Presto franchise, the Nike Air Presto Ultra Flyknit features a mid-cut collar, which lends a modern aesthetic. The TPU cage is reengineered to fit the Flyknit upper, while the ultra tooling with rubber in high contact wear areas delivers improved comfort and durability.

The Nike Air Presto Ultra Flyknit is available April 28 in Men’s and Women’s sizing only in SNKRS. Additional colorways are set to launch on nike.com beginning May 5.

"We sell about 1,000 cups every day, mostly Americanos," said a Paik's Coffee store manager in Seoul.Paik's Coffee, headed by CEO Paik Jong-won of parent company The Born Korea, attributes its success in part to its lower prices and generous servings. A medium cup of iced Americano, for instance, costs only 2,000 won ($1.70) there, less than half the price of a similar cup of coffee at Starbucks, which costs 4,100 won. Paik's Coffee also serves the Americano in a massive 15-centimeter-tall cup.

The popularity of CEO Paik has also played a central role to the chain's success. The chef-entrepreneur became a public figure himself after marrying famous actress So Yoo-jin in 2013. He has since appeared in many TV shows, such as "Korean Food War" and "My Little Television," where he has captured audiences with his wit.

"We don't worry about competition," said an official from The Born Korea, declining to be named. "Our motto is simple: make cheap, big and tasty coffee drinks and bread. We are just doing our best to meet customers' needs."
