Hi Elana, IBC is spreading worldwide now... and I think it is a good thing... I've read sometime ago that the guy who started this passed on.. so sad but he left a commendable way to raise awareness and help Lou Gehrig patients, ALS. This is a delibitating disease.

I've known a friend who had this, and it is heart wrenching to witness.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.

Some ALS ice bucket challenge losing its meaning, some people who participated simply accepted the challenge
cus it went viral, and because everybody else is doing it. They pour the bucket and nominate the next person.
So I like that Shin Hye gave a brief speech about it, and spreading awareness.

Yes @lukaforlove unfortunately many people forget the purpose of this challenge and take it like a game or maybe to get more success.

@Ely i notice many artists from tunisian post this challenge on FB and want other peoples to join and help these patients.

The guy who started it all died... Ice bucket challenge

Corey Griffin, the inventor of the ice bucket challenge, is dead. Griffin drowned at the harbor basin of Nantucket after he jumped of a building’s roof.

Griffin was traveling through Nantucket for a week in order to collect donations against the ALS disease. After he reached to enormous amount of 100,000 $, he organizes a celebration at the local beach in order to celebrate this success.

There is good that comes out of these stunts. Unfortunately, there maybe some that put dampers to the good intents for the cause... ALS.

People make a video of themselves dumping a bucket of ice water on their heads, post it on Facebook, Instagram or other social media sites, and then challenge friends to do the same within 24 hours or donate $100 to ALS. (Many do both.)

oh @kimloveeun, Corey Griffin did NOT commit suicide at all.

What happened to him was an unfortunate drowning accident that should not have happened... he went to Nantucket to 'celebrate' the success of his intent to make ALS viral and spread it via media for donations to ALS... as the news said, he went to a building's roof and tried to jump from there to the harbor basin. That was tragic.


.. I have to read the news in the mornings to keep up with colleagues.
