Will Park reveal affection for Lee in ‘Pinocchio’?

Lee Jong-suk and Park Shin-hye, the actors costarring in the SBS drama “Pinocchio,” are receiving attention from drama fans after the release of the preview of the fifth episode.

The preview showed the two actors having a serious talk on an apartment rooftop. In the video clip, Park asks Lee, “Do you know why I have the hiccups?” implying that she feels affection for Lee.

In the drama, Lee has had romantic feelings for Park for a long time, while Park develops feelings for Lee in the fourth episode broadcast Thursday.

The viewers are currently anticipating the development of the two main characters’ love relationship and their careers as rookie reporters.

The rom-com “Pinocchio” is about the relationship between a woman suffering from the fictional “Pinocchio syndrome,” which makes it impossible for her to tell a lie, and a man who lives under a fake name. It airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m. on SBS.

“Pinocchio” Previews Episode 5 with New Stills: Lee Jong Suk and Lee Yoo Bi Punished

SBS’ “Pinocchio” has dropped stills from the upcoming November 26 episode of the show, in which Lee Jong Suk (playing Choi Dal Po) and Lee Yoo Bi (Yoon Yoo Rae) are being punished, holding their arms above their heads.

It’s a strange sight, as the two are clearly dressed for a professional environment, but assuming the punishment position reminiscent of old school days in Korea. The production team said, “Lee Jong Suk and Lee Yoo Bi are punished in the scene where they meet again, and the stills capture the two with their arms up even between filming, to maintain the reality of the punishment.”

The show also released stills of Park Shin Hye (Choi In Ha) meeting her mother Jin Kyung (Song Cha Ok), who has thus far been cold and uncaring towards her daughter. “In this episode, Cha Ok seeks out her daughter Choi In Ha for a face-to-face, and will open up roads for quite the interesting story line,” said the production team.

Drama Fever Weekly Top 10 for November 17 to November 23, 2014

There is a big change this week in the Weekly Top 10. We have a new champion! And, guess which funny guy led his new show into the Top 10? First of all, I'm so glad Birth of a Beauty has maintained its perfect mix of hilarity and revenge. It hasn't forgotten to keep us laughing while our heroine and hero plot a revenge against her slimy (but handsome) ex who thinks she is dead. The cover photo is the beautiful Han Ye Seul making her revenge "teacher" Joo Sang Wook sweat beyond his control.

I raved about Pinocchio last week, so I'm not terribly surprised by its jump to grab the #1 leader position on our Top 10 list. I am surprised at the near-lightning speed that it flew on. Was Heirs this fast? Pinocchio and Heirs both star the lovely Park Shin Hye. No wonder many people are debating whether Lee Min Ho or Lee Jong Suk is the more compatible leading man for her.

I'd also like to rave about The Face Reader movie. Although the story takes place in the Joseon era, the lessons or messages from this suspenseful historical drama can still be relevant today. Face reading and other fortune-telling practices are still popular in China ever since their origin in ancient times. If you didn't know, Lee Jong Suk plays the face reader's son in this movie. The movie is so engrossing that I didn't realize it was 2 hours long until it finished. It's also a great introduction to watch Seo In Guk's new series The King's Face, which also utilizes face reading in its premise.

Speaking of historicals, I recall a reader here who commented on how good Secret Door is. The first Korean historical I ever watched was Yi San, starring Lee Seo Jin and Han Ji Min. I was enchanted and impressed by the romantic epic about the crown prince who went through adversity and turmoil to become king and his lifelong love of a girl from a common background. I also looked up Korean history along the way and learned a lot of interesting background. Secret Door tells the story of Yi San's father. I haven't had the chance to watch it, but please consider watching Yi San when you want to be a couch potato for a few days. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

I know where I'll be — on my couch watching new episodes of my favorite show while munching on Thanksgiving goodies.
