i agree with you... when i watched it without the english subs last year,
i also thought Shin Hye was greeting Mama Jang since she said Omoni (that's what I hear)
when the english subs came out, I was a bit surprised because it says ahjumma already...

Japanese Mook 21 magazine:

WITH YONG HWA - Both of us will be working very hard to earn a living.

WITH GEUN SEUK - Geun Seuk Oppa will be working very hard to earn a living and I will be daydreaming all the time and do nothing.

What is my own take on the video...

I think after knowing what actually was said and the fact that MAMA JANG was there brings new meaning to this meeting. Let's recap what transpired in this video:


greetings and speech pattern

1. Sukkie himself was kinda surprise that Shin Hye came to the event. We believe Sukkie invited Shin Hye to be there with him, but Shin Hye most probably said she was not sure if she can make it or maybe she didn't want to go because she was afraid of the implication.

2. However, she came. She was there to support Sukkie. She was surprised that Sukkie mention her name and called for her to the stage. I'm sure the company had something to do with it...but fact remain Sukkie wanted her up there with him. She was dress too casually for the event. So we can say at least with 90% certainty she was not there to share the limelight with Sukkie.

3. Sukkie looked to the left where we believe Mama Jang was seated and from his eyes and what he said to MAMA Jang (which sadly is lost in translation) was saying OMMA, LOOK,SHIN HYE CAME!!!

4. When Shin Hye introduced herself to the audience, the loudest clapped came from MAMA Jang and she also did the Wooping sound (0.40), that's why Sukkie turn and smile at his MOM. That's when the host said something about Mama Jang being there and maybe she said to Shin Hye you should greet her. So at 0.45 Shin Hye did, she said Eumoni and bowed to her.

5. The host was flabbergasted with the radiance and chemistry these two was illuminating. So much so that she commented on it..how compatible they two looked (frm the translation..I doubt the actual word used was compatible) ..PROVEN FACT Women will say out loud the first thing that comes to mind without thinking and she said exactly what she thought..how lovely this two looked together...she wanted affirmation from the audience but none came..the silence was so uncomfortable that she ask again to the male audience... I think every eel saw it too..just denying the obvious because they were jealous

6. Beside the fact of what Sukkie said abt the biting lips, the most important statement he made through all this was at the very end...when he said while looking at Shin Hye's back..Actually she is very busy. I am thankful that she came to support me...
Basically, he is saying I know her schedule very well and that she came here for me no matter how busy she is....

Body Language

1. Right after the host said, you two looked so compatible together, Sukkie moved his chair nearer to Shin Hye, affirming what the host just said and also I believe to show support to Shin Hye coz of the eels. Because they didn't support her, Sukkie was telling them, I am with her and she will always come first to me and will support her all the way...

2. Not to mention the touch Sukkie gave Shin HYe when she came on stage..the excepted public display of affection is a pat on the back or a touch on the forearm no more than 3 seconds, anything more is considered inappropriate. Sukkie was actually caressing her back...no explanation here is needed...LOL

3. Sukkie's stance is very relax,calm and happy...no sudden movement or fidgeting. Just happy to be there..open leg stance..meaning comfortable, one leg is pointing towards Shin Hye...his attraction...giving his full attention when Shin Hye speaks...attentive towards her

4. The last touching act was actually a half hug from sukkie...watch carefully the video and you can see him leaning in for a hug but stop short for a full hug..the back caressing... For a Korean couple..this is a lot of public display of affection... EVEN A BLIND MAN CAN SEE SOMETHING IS BREWING BETWEEN THEM....LOL


* WHO CAN FORGET THE STAMP OF APPROVAL FROM MAMA JANG..SCREAMING THAT SHE APPROVES..*

keep in mind, MAMA JANG has already said she loves Shin Hye and she already went to see the fortune teller at this point.

BUT I WONDER; WHO IS SUPPORTING WHO HERE...IS IT SUKKIE SUPPORTING MAMA JANG'S REQUEST FOR HIM TO GET TO KNOW SHIN HYE BETTER...OR IS IT MAMA JANG SUPPORTING HER SON IN HIS QUEST TO WIN HIS PRINCESS'S HEART...
MAYBE IT'S ALL OF THE ABOVE ...
