When I read the next episode's title I was wondering why it was Ice/Snow Queen.
Incase you're wondering too. Here's a background. :)
I guess the next episode will be about the character's different point of views.. which reminds me of a quote.. "The world doesnt really change.. we do."

- An evil troll has made a magic mirror that distorts the appearance of everything it reflects. It fails to reflect the good and beautiful aspects of people and things, while magnifying their bad and ugly aspects. It slipped from their grasp and fell back to earth, shattering into millions of pieces. These splinters — some no larger than a grain of sand — were blown around and got into people’s hearts and eyes, freezing their hearts like blocks of ice and making their eyes like the troll-mirror itself, seeing only the bad and ugly in people and things.

- A little boy Kai and a little girl Gerda live next door to each other. Gerda and Kai have a window-box garden to play in, and they become devoted to each other as playmates.

- On a pleasant summer day, splinters of the troll-mirror get into Kai’s heart and eyes while he and Gerda are looking at a picture book in their window-box garden. Kai becomes cruel and aggressive. He destroys their window-box garden, he makes fun of his grandmother, and he no longer cares about Gerda, since all of them now appear bad and ugly to him.

- Gerda finds Kai alone and almost immobile on a frozen lake, which the Snow Queen calls the “Mirror of Reason”, on which her throne sits. Kai is engaged in the task that the Snow Queen gave him: he must use pieces of ice like a Chinese puzzle to form characters and words. If he is able to form the word “eternity” (Danish: Evigheden) the Snow Queen will release him from her power and give him a pair of skates.

- Gerda runs up to Kai and kisses him, and he is saved by the power of her love: Gerda weeps warm tears on him, melting his heart and burning away the troll-mirror splinter in it. As a result, Kai bursts into tears (which dislodge the splinter from his eye) and becomes cheerful and healthy again with sparkling eyes and rosy cheeks, and also recognizes Gerda. He and Gerda dance around on the lake of ice so joyously that the splinters of ice Kai had been playing with are caught up into the dance.

- Kai and Gerda find that everything at home is the same and that it is they who have changed; they are now grown up, and are also delighted to see that it is summertime.

I was mind-blown by this story :S :S but it was good and can be used to describe the situation of Dal Po and In Ha, I think :bingo: =D

DRAMA CLUB RECAP: Pinocchio Episode 2
by Jazmine Wilcox on Sun, Nov 16, 2014

Welcome back Drama Clubbers! This episode of Pinocchio will keep you guessing as our characters reveal more about themselves, we learn a few secrets, and a dead body is discovered! Join Suzy, June, and myself as we discuss this week’s episode!

Jazmine: Okay ladies! I think this episode was really geared towards us learning more about our characters. And first up, our leading man! From dummy to genius overnight? Well we all knew he was smart from the beginning. This episode really showed how caring he is and how much the tragedy in his life really affected him. I thought he really was going to pummel that kid in the hallway that talked about his dad, but he showed restraint. I was also surprised he got on TV, but that was like a testament to what he’d do for In Ha. I was pleased.

Suzy: I was pleased too! He’s clearly a very dedicated and driven person. Maybe the teachers sensed that and that’s why he never got held back. Kidding (kind of), but it’ll be interesting to find out more of what he’s kept hidden from his adopted family over the years.

June: Ditto! I'm so loving this character so much. It just went to show us how caring and determined he was. It's interesting to see how he's now shedding his All-Zero image to his genius self. I wonder as well why he's kept it a secret from his adopted family!

inha_2014-11-17.jpg

Jazmine: During this episode I also think that In Ha showed how she felt for Dal Po in her own way by going through all that trouble to find his library check-outs and whatnot. I also think she’s suppressing the fact that she likes Dal Po...she keeps telling him to not misunderstand, but it seems like she’s misunderstanding her own heart. But this is episode two...dramaland will drag this out.

Suzy: The more she tells him not to misunderstand, the more I am “misunderstanding!” Girl has feelings for him and she’s not very good at hiding them, regardless of hiccups. It was crystal clear when she was sobbing for him in the ambulance, which Dal Po should have stayed on, by the way. He was freakin’ unconscious! Look at me, trying to use logic. Anyway.

June: I love how she keeps saying not to misunderstand her. It's like the number one way to know that that character does have feelings for the other. Not going to lie, I already love those two! They are just too funny and adorable with each other. Omg that ambulance scene was too funny! Loved it! Haha

Jazmine: I actually liked him in the beginning. I just thought he was this snooty know-it-all but I didn’t think he was a bad person….until he started spreading the rumors about Dal Po. I understand that he wanted to confess to In Ha and everything but was that necessary? I’m over him now and I hope he slowly fades away in the background. (Loved the actor in Blade Man though!)

Suzy: Totally unnecessary, and I’m totally over him too. P.S. threatening to smack the girl you like across the face isn’t the best flirting technique, buddy.

June: This kid was just too much! I hope he's just a side character that was only good for the quiz part of the show. Sorry not sorry!

Jazmine: What do you guys think of Dal Po and In Ha’s relationship? It’s in the very beginning stages that’s for sure, but how do you think they’ll progress. I I think it’s going to be a long and hard road for Dal Po. Even though he admits he likes her….I think it’s gonna take him some time. I believe In Ha will be more open to the idea of loving Dal Po, but who knows….

Suzy: Yeah, it’s weird because Dal Po admits to himself that he likes In Ha, but has the whole her-mom-ruining-his-life thing going on, meanwhile In Ha could be more open to it, but still hasn’t admitted to herself that she might like him. Either way, I don’t think Grandpa’s going to take it very well when he sees his “son” and granddaughter get together. Eep.

June: I love them already but I know there's going to be a very, very bumpy road ahead of them. Especially with the whole journalist mom and then with gramps finding out the truth. I just know it's not going to be pretty.

Jazmine: Scaryyyy. I totally sympathize with Jae Myung, but when someone’s thoughts are like this it’s really hard for them to get through it all and heal. Things are about to get especially crazy too with the skeleton found by the building. There is going to “hell to pay” so to speak. I feel like Jae Myung is going to go after the reporters to the fullest of this extent once everything is revealed.

Suzy: I hope he doesn't go TOO crazy. I can’t say I’d be surprised though. He went through such a traumatic event and had no one to turn to because of it. We love you, Jae Myung! I want to know more about that skeleton though...

June: Hell hath no fury. I feel like he will raise some serious hell if that skeleton turns out to be his fathers. I just know things are about to go south. I just really hope he doesn't go too crazy. I hope by then hopefully Dal Po can get to them and maybe be able to heal together or something!

What do you think? Will Dal Po be able to look past what In Ha's mom did to him? How do you think Dal Po and In Ha's relationship will develop? Do you think Jae Myung will get his revenge? And what about that skeleton? Let us know in the comments below!

Ki Jae Myung :onhot: :onhot: I think this guy is seriously bad news, getting bent on revenge and everything! Maybe that pinocchio guy who told the media that he saw the brothers' father will get hurt :onhot: :S

Kolorful Palette: Island sunset [Pinocchio]
by Fanderay, November 16, 2014, dramabeans

Pinocchio is a drama I actually had my eye on (primarily due to the cast) and although it hasn’t exceeded my expectations just yet, it’s a fun show with likable characters and even some details here and there that I found pleasantly surprising. It has its cliches and flaws, but sometimes those are the dramas I end up enjoying the most, and so far there’s been more than enough charm to keep me happy.

The main things I’ve struggled with so far are the pacing and the overall believability of the premise. The first episode was a total whirlwind that jumped from high school, to quiz show, to heartwarming past, to tragic drama, to childhood romance, to revenge plot… all in what seemed like a matter of minutes. The tone kept changing so quickly that I ended up not getting very emotionally invested in any of the story lines, although I found that started to change pretty quickly in the second episode. It’s really not proper of me to complain in this case since usually my complaint with dramas is that they drag the backstory out over four or more episodes and I’ve lost interest before the real story even begins. It may be better in the long run that Pinocchio got it out of the way, so I’ll reserve judgment.

As far as the premise goes, I’m not fully believing Dal-po’s revenge angle. I don’t care about the plausibility of Pinocchio syndrome since that’s just something that’s been established as existing within this world, and I’m always far more interested in plausibility on an emotional level. No matter how hard I try, I don’t completely buy Dal-po’s extreme hatred for TV over all else. I even agree that the media is far too speculative, but I have a hard time thinking that if I were in his shoes, the media would be my primary focus. His father’s scandal involved four witnesses, which even in a court of law goes far beyond speculation. Why isn’t he pursuing those witnesses, or trying to find out what actually happened to his father? I feel like a desire for the truth would be much stronger than any desire for revenge, especially in Dal-po’s case (he just doesn’t seem like the revengey type). It does look like his brother is following more fruitful leads though, so hopefully their story will become more about that.

Continue....
Dal-po’s hatred does have its positive aspects though, like how well it creates a contrast between him and In-ha. I absolutely love that she sees television as some wonderful beacon of truth, and it’ll probably create more tension between her and Dal-po than her parentage does. I’m guessing they’re both in for a reality check, and hopefully Dal-po understands the irony of going on a quiz show to do exactly what he thinks TV never does (tell the truth). I’d rather see him become a reporter to change the system than because he wants to take it down.

As far as In-ha’s mother goes, I hope she’s rehabilitated in her approach to journalism rather than having her career destroyed, and I hope it’s In-ha that changes her instead of Dal-po. I think that’s a result that would create more character growth all around, and it’s certainly a lot less dark.

On the surface this show is fairly rote, but there were a few unexpected bits that really made me take notice. For one, In-ha is smart! I feel like every time the male lead is a super smarty-pants in a drama the female lead is a ditz, and has to become successful through sheer willpower and goodness of heart. It’s refreshing to see two characters that really feel like peers both intellectually and emotionally.

I also really like that In-ha didn’t hiccup when asked about liking Dal-po because their backstory completely set her up to be the twitterpated one (and I fell for it). The reveal of Dal-po’s lovey-dovey motivations at the end of Episode 2 was the perfect opposite, and it took the whole tone of their romance somewhere I didn’t expect. I thought he would focus on revenge and deny his feelings for about 10 episodes first. Instead In-ha is the one denying her feelings, but I like that her Pinocchio syndrome accommodates denial and doesn’t reveal the truth to herself when that truth is buried deep (unlike her more transparent desire to defend Dal-po’s cheating).

Thinking back, there really were quite a few little moments I enjoyed, like In-ha freaking out in the ambulance, or Grandpa denying that he went in In-ha’s room. I’m pretty sure he’s faking his confusion at this point because he doesn’t want to lose Dal-po as a son, and if that’s the case then that is SO freaking heartwarming I can hardly stand it.
