F.T. Island showed their support for rookie labelmates AOA.

FNC Entertainment released a friendly snapshot of the two groups together on the 23rd. The photo shows F.T. Island and AOA meeting up backstage at a music program.

F.T. Island complimented their fellow labelmates, sharing, “AOA are hoobaes who really work hard. We are also doing our best to support them, and we hope their new single ‘Get Out‘ receives a lot of love. AOA fighting.”

In other news, F.T. Island recently concluded their promotions for their 4th album, ‘Five Treasure Box‘.

FT Island’s Choi Min Hwan debutes as a musical actor




FT Island’s drummer Choi Min Hwan will debut as a musical actor.

Choi was cast in the musical Gwanghwamun Younga to play the lead role of a character named Ji Yong. The musical will open on November 10 in Osaka and in January of 2013 in Tokyo.

Choi says, “I’m nervous to stand on stage as a musical actor because I was always behind the members as a drummer. The musical will open in Japan and I will do my best.”

Choi will play the role of a music director named Ji Yong, who is bright and considerate.

The musical is a Korean creative musical, which was very popular in 2011 and 2012. TVXQ’s Yun Ho, MBLAQ’s G.O and Seung Ho, Supernova’s Sung Jae, and ZE:A’s Kevin previously appeared on the musical and drew a lot of attention.

The musical will be performed on November 10 through December 2 in Osaka and on January 1, 2013 through 27 in Tokyo, Japan.

[News] 121105 FTISLAND’s Mysterious Concept for 9th Japanese Single ‘Polar Star’



FTISLAND’s newly-released teaser is getting lots of attention from fans.

FTISLAND released the teaser video of their 9th Japanese single ‘Polar Star’ on 5 November. In the video, FTISLAND installed special lighting on each of their instruments, giving the video a dazzling touch as they perform, in accordance with the concept of ‘Polar Star’.

Title song ‘Polar Star’ is a medium rock song that talks about how feelings for one remain unchanged, just like the polar star that stays fixed in its position. This song is also getting lots of attention as it has been selected as the ending theme song for NTV programme ‘Onryumon’ and ‘Futtonda’.

Besides the title song ‘Polar Star’, their 9th Japanese single also includes songs like ‘Fallin’ for you’, written & composed by Lee Jaejin and ‘Beautiful World’, composed by Choi Jonghoon. Lee Jaejin explained, “I was inspired while trying out the acoustic guitar at home and this is how the melody for ‘Fallin’ for you’ came about. It is a song that talks about how a guy feels when he can’t approach the girl he loves.”



Following that, Choi Jonghoon said, “This is my first time writing a Jonghoon-labelled ballad that goes with a piano accompaniment. The song is titled ‘Beautiful World’. I composed the melody while thinking of the lyrics that talk about how a guy looks at a girl in an adorable way. “

FTISLAND’s ‘Polar Star’ MV teaser can be viewed on FTISLAND’s Japan official Youtube channel and the full version will be revealed on the release date of their 9th Japanese single ‘Polar Star’ on 28 November.

[News] 121107 FTISLAND Treats College Entrance Exam Takers 100 Chickens





Band, FTISLAND, treated college entrance exam candidates 100 chickens.

FTISLAND gave a treat to grade 3 high school students who are sitting for the college entrance exam on 8 November, 100 chickens from Toreore, which they are modelling for lately. The members took a photo and also conveyed their encouragement messages before sending the chickens over to the students.

FTISLAND revealed, saying, “We wanted to give strength to the students who are studying hard for their college entrance exam. We have always been deeply moved by our fans and we would like to thank them. We want to be their strength too. Fighting to all the candidates out there!”

Besides encouraging the exam candidates, this event is also meant to thank their fans in return for the love they have given the members for the release of their 4th regular album “Five Treasure Box” on 10 September.
