CNBLUE’s song gets played on American news broadcast




CNBLUE is overjoyed with the surprising appearance of their song on an American morning news show.

According to CNBLUE’s management FNC Entertainment, the song “Have a Good Night” was the background music for a report on morning coffee during the morning news show on WPSD Local 6, a regional channel aired in Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee and Arkansas.

Thereafter, the hosts introduced the song as ‘Have a Good Night’ by CNBLUE. The part of the song that was played was, “espresso double, double shots, I, I will not sleep tonight”. It was really suitable for the coffee theme of that day’s news program which was probably the reason why the song was included in the report.

“Have a Good Night” was written by CNBLUE’s main vocal Jung Yonghwa and was included in their first Japanese studio album ‘Code Name Blue’, which was released on August 29th. ‘Code Name Blue’ sold 44,000 copies in the first week of sales, ranking first on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

K-pop rock band CNBLUE is overjoyed with the surprising appearance of their song on an American morning news show.

On Tuesday, CNBLUE' "Have a Good Night" opened American channel WPSD-TV Local 6’s "Today at 6" before the hosts began to talk about that morning’s subject, coffee.

FNC Entertainment announced the news in excitement that they are assuming its energetic beat and lyrics have helped the tune to be chosen for the opening.

Composed and written by CNBLUE's frontman Jung Yong-hwa, "Have a Good Night" includes the lyrics “Espresso double double shots. I will not sleep tonight. Tomorrow is a holiday...”

The single is a track listed in the group's first Japanese studio album “CODE NAME BLUE,” released this year.

The quartet has already been introduced on the same show, when the program used CNBLUE's "One Time" as the background music of one of the Olympics coverage in August.

Having wrapped up their nationwide Japan tour successfully, the “In My Head” singers are gearing up for their fourth exclusive concert in Korea opening at the Handball Stadium in Seoul’s Olympic Park on December 15 and 16.

“Seo-young, My Daughter” Stays Strong atop Weekly Chart, Shatters Own Record





KBS weekend drama “Seo-young, My Daughter” has dominated the weekly TV ratings chart for four consecutive weeks.

The Park Hae-jin and Lee Bo-young starrer added another win to its incessant victory by scoring 34.6 percent of the total viewers during the fourth week of October, according to data compiled by TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] Monday.

The family drama broke its previous record for two weeks in a row, portraying Woo-jae [played by Lee Sang-yoon] introducing a job to his father-in-law Sam-jae [Chun Ho-jin].

Next up is KBS’ daily TV series “Reaching for the Stars,” which earned the support of 30.2 percent of the viewers during the same time period.

With a pretty big gap from the runner-up, KBS comedy show “Gag Concert" landed at No. 3 with 21.8 percent. Last Sunday's episode captivated the audience by guest-starring K-pop female group miss A.

“KBS 9 o’clock News” and MBC weekend series “May Queen” followed next each with 20.9 and 19.6 percent, rounding out the top five last week.

Other notable TV programs in the top ten are SBS drama “Still You,” SBS’ variety show “I Like Sundays,” MBC’ comedy program “Infinite Challenge,” KBS’ hit drama “The Innocent Man” and KBS’ variety program “Happy Sunday.”

In the meantime, data from AGB Nielson Media Research showed the programs in the same order but with slightly different figures from TNmS’ during the week of October 22 to 28.

While “Seo-young, My Daughter” topped the chart with the viewership rating of 31.5 percent, “Reaching for the Stars” and “Gag Concert” followed next with 28.9 and 21 percent, respectively.
