CNBlue enters Oricon’s top 10 for the first time

CNBlue’s single, “I Don’t Know Why,” has ranked 8th in Oricon’s daily single chart after being released on the 16th. Having debuted in Japan in 2008, CNBlue has released a total of five singles to date, and their most recent release represents the first time they’ve entered the Oricon top 10.

Their accomplishment is actually quite a meaningful since it was done without a major record label and without any extra promotions or broadcast appearances. The single was released through an indie label with only minor performances.

In June, “The Way” managed to rank 11th on Oricon’s daily single chart, and showed signs of steady improvement. “I Don’t Know Why” was able to hit the home run, finally making it in to the top 10. The album includes self composed tracks by members Jung Yonghwa and Lee Jonghyun, showing that such results are a confirmation of the members’ talents.

CNBlue successfully completed a performance in Osaka on September 16th, and will be moving on to Nagoya on the 18th, and Tokyo on the 20th. All three cities quickly sold out for their tour.

Yong Hwa's condition was the best. He said he wanted to revenge a former insult(His voice condition was not good at June).
Yong Hwa explained about his new song. He said recently he fell for synthesizer. So he put the whole mind to the synthesizer opening.
Then he imitated the opening synthesizer melody with his mouth.
Once Yong Hwa said, "I am a genius, I am Tsukumo!" (Kimura Takuya's role in Japan drama 'Mister brain'. They all watched this series.)

Min Hyuk said new album hit Oricon daily chart number 8. ('One time' hit #11, at that time he said he wanted to enter top 10.)
Then he talked about the jacket picture, they took off clothes for the first time.
Yong Hwa said "Ah ashamed!" then all covered their shoulder with both arms. (so cute)

The gap between Min Hyuk's smiling face and serious face playing drum, was too big.
And they seemed really nervous when they played new songs.

Jung Shin: "Jong Hyun hyung becomes too excited whenever he comes to Osaka. I'm bothered." (Jong Hyun had lived there when he was a kid)
Jong Hyun: "I will kill you. I'm happy I can eat Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki I've eaten when I was a kid."

Jong Hyun talked about his song 'Lie',
"I made it as strong and manly mood. How was it to you? My songs I made, they are all good." , he praised himself.

During encore, there was a surprise birthday party for Jung Shin.
It's his 19th birthday. Now he is adult in Korea. But he's not in Japan?
Yong Hwa said Jung Shin is still far from 20 years old, he is minor. Jung Shin said Min Hyuk is same.

Min Hyuk's touching speech:
"Exactly one year ago, we had our first one man live. I still remember, we all were extremely nervous.

Min Hyuk spoke in fluent Japanese. His speech moved the audience very deeply.

Fan's question: How was the concert in Okaka yesterday?
Jong Hyun: It's our second time in Osaka. You welcomed us warmly and enjoyed our concert.
Min Hyuk: It was the performance that we all could be one. We enjoyed from the opening.
Yong Hwa: Yesterday, we performed all songs in our albums. So it's more meaningful to me as 'the first'.
Jong Hyun: We caught a cold, so we were not in good condition. I really appreciate you to give us power, enjoyed our performance. So we could finish it.
DJ: You have cold.
Jong Hyun: Yes, I and Min Hyuk have stuffy nose. We three are still sick.

Fan's question: What was 'Tsukumo' Yong Hwa mentioned at the concert?
Yong Hwa: I watched 'Mister Brain' I really enjoyed it. in that drama, Kimura Takuya said 'I am Tsukumo' in a charming manner. I loved it.
Jung Shin: Yong Hwa hyung resembles Kimura Takuya. His hair style is similar to Kimura Takuya in the drama.
Yong Hwa: We love Japanese dramas. We study Japanese language with drama.

something about Busan habits . . . .

Journalist: Are there any specific things you guys are proud about Busan?
Simon: Athlete Lee Daeho. Me. Lizzy. And (Jung) Yonghwa. Puhaha.
Simon: Yonghwa is actually my school junior from Namsan High School in Busan. We have a bit of a large age gap so we didn’t attend together but I knew a kid named Jung Suchul in my class. His brother always said he’d be a singer and I recently found out that that brother was Jung Yonghwa. When I first saw Yonghwa again, I didn’t have a good impression because he used Seoul’s dialect and felt a bit cold. As I saw him more on broadcasts, though, I noticed that he he was actually really nice and we’ve become like brothers now.
Simon: There’s the stereotype that Busan men are cold and unresponsive, but that’s just a stereotype. But yes, our personalities are a bit impatient. We have a tendency to repeat what we say, for example, when someone asks what we’d like to eat, we’d repeat, ‘rice cakes, rice cakes.’

Q: What is the difference between when you were here for the training and this time?
Yong Hwa: We used to pass NHK building to go to Yoyogi park for a street live.
Now we are interviewing with NHK, isn't it a big difference?

Q: What did you learn in Japan while you performed at street and live houses?
Yong Hwa: So many things, I don't know what to say first.
We learned not only a performing skill, but also a strong heart which make us face the audience.
We used to perform with other bands, those experiences are precious to us.

Q: What is your determination from now on?
Min Hyuk : Soon our another live performance begins. Our goal is to be a band who compete with live performance.
After these performances of 'I don't know why' album, we want to meet you subsequently with new better albums at live stage.

CNBlue hits double platinum in Taiwan

CNBlue have become the first Korean singers to reach platinum status with two different albums in Taiwan at the same time.
According to Warner Music Taiwan, their first mini-album, “Bluetory,” and second minialbum, “Blue Love,” both sold over 10,000 copies each. Taiwan acknowledges albums as “platinum” when 10,000 copies are sold.

Many Korean groups such as TVXQ, Super Junior, and SS501 have released albums in Taiwan, but CNBlue is the first to have both albums reach platinum at the same time. Representatives of Warner Music Taiwan stated, “A double platinum has definitely never happened before.”

CNBlue is currently ranked first in major Taiwanese music charts such as G-Music and Five Music.

CNBLUE “We Will Be Focusing on Live Performance to Improve Ourselves.”

“We were so surprised by the news that “I Don’t Know Why” was at #7 in the Oricon (chart). We appreciate all the fans who love our music and will put our effort to do the best.”

CNBLUE went to Japan in 2008 to study music without any particular plan and performed in streets and in small live halls so that they could improve their live performance. As a result, here come 4 members of CNLBUE who sparkle their passion and effort at this stage.

CNBLUE released their 2nd Japanese single “I Don’t Know Why” on 16th September and performed live at a concert in Osaka, followed by Nagoya concert. The 3rd and last performance they for Japan’s “Listen to the CNBLUE” live tour was at Shibuya-ax, Tokyo on 20th.

CNBLUE performed 23 pieces including ‘Love Revolution’ ‘Now or Never’ and ‘Love’. The 2nd single title song, “I Don’t Know Why” composed and written by CNBLUE leader, Jung Yong Hwa and “Lie” composed by Lee Jung Hyun captivated all the fans.

During the interview, Jung Yong Hwa revealed,” We were passing by Harajuku police station, the place where we were put into jail due to the unauthorized street performance last year and we were telling people ‘Please buy a lot of our cds’. So we were so glad to hear that the 2nd single reached 7th place in Oricon because of the love and support of our fans.”

“I still remembered vividly, as if it was only yesterday how nervous we were 1 year ago to perfume a 1-hour one man live concert in September. But we felt so much achievement after the concert. We will not forget those memories and will do our best to be a better and improved band. Please stay with us always.”

The fans in the concert celebrated Jungshin’s 19th birthday with cake and birthday song. There was an announcement saying that CNBLUE will hold the first fan meeting in Japan and it made the fans happy and shout for joy.

Due to the fact that their concert tickets were sold out all the time whenever purchase of tickets were open, fans called the concert “cannot-be-attended-even-though-wanted”, there were many fans waiting and queuing with a huge line at the concert hall to watch CNBLUE’s performance and 300 fans who couldn’t purchase the tickets were waiting outside to support them.

In the press interview right before the concert, CNBLUE said, “The new single album is the process of finding our style of music, which makes the album to be more attached to us,” and they gave their opinion, “We are surprised by reaching the 7th spot in Oricon and appreciate all the fans who love our music and will put our effort to do better”.

“We want to perform live in streets and live hall like old days and as a band, we will do the best in our live performances and will put our endless effort to be the most anticipated band for the future.”
