Nu2me I like what you said, “hope they eventually wind up together.” Its saying sometime in the future not necessarily now. i’d like SH to have other boyfriends first before she settles down and I’d rather KS belong to the settle down end than the boyfriends bit. As for the quote, I believe it works vice versa too.

Vira mianhae, but the scope of the research I did was experimental rather than longitudinal (over time). So, basically, I made pairs of people interact with each other while knowing their predispositions in their relationship (boss-employee, teacher-student, friend-friend, etc) and looked at their mimicking behaviors and underlying motivations.

But you do raise a good question, and I am tempted to answer based on review of other materials and my own bias of course. I guess that kind of "in-sync"-ness is based not on how many people you get to do it with but rather on the depth of the relationship you share with a certain person or the importance of that relationship to you. so, for many people it can happen with many other persons in different scales of relationships (with your mom, dad, boss, mentor, boyfriend etc).

so relating this back to the couple we love so much, their being in-sync is proof that their relationship is "special" since the subconscious is powerful enough to observe and act upon what the conscious mind would rather avoid. the ease that it comes about too is one thing to note (you cannot feel anything heavy about how they interact. JGS and PSH works just like a breeze).

To that vein, I guess we can validate maize's 24-hour theory. their interests, emotions and expressions are so aligned that they think of doing something around the same time the other does the same thing. i will be bold enough to say that most of the time these coincidences are not planned by these 2. science will say it's due to their interpersonal relationship. but my non-sciencey self believe it's just plain fate. this happens between best friends and best of lovers.

oh - looking at posts from way back - i noticed that JGS did admit that they "cooled off" for a while on contacting each other. i thought this was very personal information that he divulged when he didn't need to. since he appears to be the leader in this relationship, the responsibility was actually on him to validate that shin hye's emotions at around the same time was indeed related and relevant to this "cooling off" period or their so-called relationship. i thought his subtle admission was well thought-out. and that whatever they are, officially together or not, he's taking good care of her and sets her expectations right.

Regarding the cooling off time between these two, now that I look back it seems they did communicate indirectly through music. What is your take on this? Both listed mostly sad love songs on their playlist. In SH's Cyworld her words were full of sorrow and anger towards someone-we all assume it is him. One of the songs he mentioned was Be Happy by Lee Sora. It is about finding new love. Perhaps it was his reply to her thereby validating her state of mind as well as attempting to take good care of her.

queenbee - re: communicating through the cyworlds. i actually think it's beyond the music stuff. but that although they were apart at that time, they are still both brave and bold enough to let each other know how the other feels in whichever way works. if it was a true cool off, then they could just not do things related to each other. so, i think in that way, they preserved the value of their special friendship. it does look like PSH was hurting at that time and although he's causing part of it, the friend JGS is to SH wants to comfort her. At the same time, he respected her decision because he intends to move forward and keep whatever they have. maybe those mindswaps on cyworld actually opened the way for them to finally talk it through and accept that they should just keep in contact because frankly, they can't live without each other anymore (in a non-romantic sense). they have made significant marks in each other's lives to just keep away like that. so the only real solution is to move on with what they can have for now, together.


Wow, gonnabeme , you really work hard on these things. When I read your list, I actually am dividing it up according to fate and choice in my head. As the Romeo and Juliet theme goes, "fate can only take you so far, the rest is up to you" (don't quote me there as I think I am vaguely remembering). I am a strong believer in that destiny's primary job is to connect two people, when it has succeeded at that the rest is up to their choices.

21. Of the 4 women in Sukkie's cellphone, he recalls Shin Hye top-of-mind. Haha!! In my current advertising world, top-of-mind is the most powerful share of mind. Like if you recall a brand first for a certain product (i.e. Samsung for cellphones) then that means that brand has the greatest power in your mind. So, if JGS only has a limited list of girls in his head, Shin Hye is #1? typically, these could be so random and we'll take it if he recalls her #2. But...that cannot be deliberate since Sukkie is a very talkative and bubbly person, he isn't the type to think through what to say like it was scripted and still he recalls her first. So what do I conclude, seems fate has done quite some silly things to connect them and has done a wonderful job. And thankfully, these 2 are doing so much more choices. I think a little more helping from Fate can seal the deal. Like maybe this whole different partners deal with Shin Hye and the JIFF guy and JGS' noona in "Pet" may be Fate's way to drive them apart, find their own selves, and help them sort their feelings in hope that maybe someday they wake up and realize all these things they didn't do that brings them together. Just so they listen and finally choose each other
