Lee Min Ho handles guns like a boss for “City Hunter”



On May 11th, producers from SBS’s upcoming drama, “City Hunter“, released a new set of photos featuring actor Lee Min Ho at a gun range in Thailand.

Before he took off for Thailand, he took lessons from a professional and earned some major tips. Coupling the advice with ardent practise at the shooting range, staff members quickly became impressed with the way he naturally handled the gun. They watched in awe as he calmly worked through pistols, shotguns, and rifles without batting an eye.



Representatives stated, “Most people usually freak out and flinch at the recoil’s explosive sound, but Lee Min Ho maintained his facial expression and stance all the way through, just like a true ‘City Hunter’.”

They continued, “Filming took a long time to complete and our ears were ringing from the loud shots, but Lee Min Ho was a professional about it and never once expressed his fatigue.”

The drama begins on May 25th.

"City Hunter's" Lee Min Ho & Park Min Young Wet and...





Recently, actors Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young enjoyed a lovely romantic date for “City Hunter.” On May 3rd, the two leads went to Seoul Yeoido’s Hankang Park to shoot a beautiful springy and romantic scene. Lee Min Ho plays Lee Yoon Sung, a MIT graduate who works in the Blue House National Communications Team, while Park Min Young plays Kim Nana, a secret service agent and former judo athlete.

The two happen to accompany each other to Yeoido for business, but they end up enjoying a sweet moment together. Lee Yoon Sung and Kim Nana are shown having fun fooling around at a fountain like little kids, and both are soaked from head to toe. Both Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young were pros and finished shooting without any NGs.

Representatives of the production company said, “Lee Min Ho and Kim Nana have perfect chemistry, and their passion and dedication to completing the scene as best as possible energized the rest of the cast and crew.”

“City Hunter” is based on the best-selling Japanese manga by Hojo Tsukasa, which sold over a million copies just in Korea. The original manga by Tsukasa is set in 1980 Tokyo, but the drama adaptation will take place in modern day Seoul.

“City Hunter” will air its first episode May 25th.

이민호군과 드디어 단독 인터뷰를 했습니다. 계탔다고 해야 되나요? 전생에 나라를 구한 건가요? ㅎㅎㅎㅎ '이뉴스' 창간에 맞춰 단독 인터뷰에 응해준 이민호 군과, 소속사 분들께 진심으로 감사함을 표합니다..^^

I eventually had the chance to interview LMH alone. (skipping one sentence i don't understand) Did i save the country during my previous life? Hahahaha. I express my gratitude to LMH and the people in his management who gave me the chance to interview him alone during the first issue of 'E-news'.

지난 9년여간 취재 활동을 하면서 수많은 스타 인터뷰를 섭외해 봤지만 이렇게 가슴을 졸인 것은 ....단연 이민호가 처음이었던 것 같습니다. 물론 2007년인가? '궁'과 '포도밭 그 사나이'로 최고의 주가를 올렸던 윤은혜 단독인터뷰 잡는 일도 정말 정말 힘들고 괴로웠던 기억이 납니다...이민호군은 괴롭다기 보다 소위 염통이 쫄깃쫄깃해졌다고나 할까요? 안되면 어떡하나 얼마나 맘을 졸였는지...

Although I've interviewed countless stars during the past 9 years of legwork, this was the first time i felt my heart racing. Of course, it wasn't easy to secure an interview with Yoon Eun Hye around 2007 after she shot to stardom in 'goong' and 'the vineyard man', but for LMH, rather than feeling distressed, should i say that my heart was thumping? (??)

암튼 이민호와의 인터뷰는 그렇기에 더욱 설레고 기대됐습니다. 많은 준비를 하고 만났는데 이민호군은 처음 차에서 내리는 그 순간부터 비현실적인 만화같은 비주얼로 기자를 압도하더군요...

Anyway, there was more anticipation for the interview with LMH. I prepared a lot before I met him. The moment he stepped out of the car, the scene was mind boggling as if a character from a manga stepped right out into my world...

한참이나 나이어린 친구인데도, 기가 빨리는(?) 듯한 기분이었습니다. 기자들은 보통 취재원과의 기싸움에서 지지 않으려 방어태세를 많이 갖추는 데요...전 단번에 무방비 상태가 됐다고나 할까요?

it's been a while with someone younger than me, but my feelings were 기가 빨리는 듯(??). Usually a reporter tends to take a posture of defense to avoid creating a brawl with their source (not v. sure of translation)... can i say that this is the only one time when i became defenseless?

사실 이민호와의 인터뷰는 이번이 처음이었지만, 그의 가능성은 꽤 오래전부터 보였고 전 그때 그가 장치 대스타가 될 거라 생각했습니다. 영화 '울학교 이티' 시사회 때 실물로 이민호를 처음 봤던 순간이 지금도 생각나는군요. 그땐 박보영 문채원이 더욱 인지도가 알려져서..이민호 군은 시사회 때에도 별 주목을 받지 못했습니다.

Actually this is the first time having an interview with LMH. However i've recognized his potential from quite long ago when I thought he would become a big star someday. I can still remember seeing him for the first time during the movie "Our School ET"'s premiere. At that time, I was more familiar with Park Bo Young and Moon Chae Won. LMH didn't get much attention at that time.

당시 같이 시사회를 간 팬엔터테인먼트의 윤고은 프로듀서는 "쟤, 우리 드라마 했던 친구인데. '아이 앰 샘' 때 탑이랑 같이...여기 있었네"라고 설명해줬습니다. 전 그때 "아니 저렇게 잘생기고 연기도 잘하는 친구를 아직 내가 모르고 있었을까?"하며 무릎을 쳤죠...신기하게도 이민호의 소속사 스타우스 엔터테인먼트의 한수한 이사님은 저랑 개인적으로 막역한 사이로...이후 '꽃남' 때부터는 이민호 군을 열심히 취재할 수(?) 있게 되었습니다...ㅎㅎ

During that time, producer Yoon Go Eun from Pan-entertainment, who attended the premiere with me said, "That guy acted in our drama before. He was with TOP in 'i am sam'. Didn't know he's here." My response during that time was, "how can i not know of someone who's both good looking and acts well?" as i slapped my knee. It's surprising because I know director Han Su Han of Starhaus Entertainment, which is the management company of LMH very well. Subsequently, after 'BOF', I was able to gather news of LMH-goon.

하지만 이후 이민호 군이 너무 떠버리는 바람에...전 개인적으로 이민호 군을 만날 기회가 없게 됐습니다...그러다 이번에 한달 이상 공을 들여서 결국 섭외에 성공한 것이죠. 신기했던 것은...이민호군의 우월한 비주얼이었습니다.

However, after that, LMH was (very busy?).. so I couldn't meet him personally. It took me a month of work before I succeeded getting an interview. It seems unbelievable... seeing him like this.

그날 저는 tvN 연예정보프로그램 '이뉴스' 제작팀과 동행해서 이민호군을 만났습니다. '뉴스24' 간 멘트를 따기 위해 백보드를 들고 제작진이 나타났는데요...그 백보드가 딱 2미터였습니다. 그래서 민호군 키를 물어봤어요. 185cm라고 했나? 그런데 이민호군 머리가 백보드 끝에 거의 걸리는 거예요....진짜 키가 크더라고요...

I was with the production team for tvN's entertainment news program 'E-news' that day, which is how i met LMH. a production crew appeared at that time carrying a backboard which was 2 meters. Therefore I asked LMH whether his height was 185cm? LMH's hair almost reached the end of the backboard. He is really tall indeed...

그래서 제작진의 요청으로 이민호군은 본의 아니게 쩍벌남이 되어서 키를 백보드 끝에 들어가도록 낮추어서 멘트를 했습니다...ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 보통 연예인들은 키를 살짝 뻥튀기해서 올리기 마련인데 이민호군은 키를 살짝 깍았거나 아니면 그 사이에 키가 자란 거 아닐까요?

The production crew requested LMH to lower his height by opening his legs so he would be within the height of the backboard while doing the 멘트 hahahaha. (? sorry i don't know what 'ment' means here, may be saying something?)[ /i]Entertainers' height are usually reported taller than the actual height, for LMH's case, it seems as if he's actually tall or at least should I say he's at a height that's impressive?

예의바르되, 주저함 없고 당찬 이민호군의 언변에 어리지만 스타답다라는 인상을 받았습니다. 또 소속사가 '장동건 고소영 부부와 같은 집에 산다'는 보도가 나간 이후로 집 관련 기사에 대한 부담감이 있을지 모르니 관련 질문은 피해달라고 했는데. 제가 '자신에게 데뷔 후 가장 크게 쏜 선물은 뭐냐?'라는 질문에 고민 끝에 솔직하게 '집'이라고 대답을 하더군요...

The polite, unhesitating, confident LMH may be young with words(??) but his life is that of a star. His management company told us to avoid questions about his abode his they were not sure whether he felt burdened after reports about him living in the same apartment as Jang Dong Gun and Go Soo Young surfaced. However when I asked him what was the greatest present he spent on himself after his debut, he answered 'house' after pondering on the question....

그의 진솔한 대답에 내심 놀랐습니다. 대답에서는 효성이 묻어나왔습니다. 가족들을 위해 마련해 준 첫 집인데, 어릴 때부터 살던 동작구를 떠나기 실어서 어머니가 편한 동네 쪽으로 집을 알아봤다는 겁니다...

I was surprised by his honest answer which revealed his love for his parents. It was the first abode he prepared for his family. He didn't want to leave Dong Jak Gu, the area where he grew up, so he chose somewhere where it will be convenient for his mother.

이런 아들 있으면 정말 세상을 다 얻은 거 같겠죠?

If one has such a son, it seems like one has the whole world, isn't it?

위 사진은...'이뉴스'가 오후 8시대로 시간대가 이동했다는 말을 했더니, 센스 있게 숫자 팔을 손가락으로 만들면서 '이뉴스' 홍보에 도움을 주는 저 센스...무한감동^^

이민호군이 '시티헌터' 촬영 때문에 요즘 하루 서너시간도 잠을 못자고 분주한 날을 보내고 있다고 합니다. 두시간 가깝게 시간을 쪼개 내어준 데 대해 정말 개인적으로 고마웠고요....

LMH has not been sleeping more than 3-4 hours a day due to busy filming of 'City Hunter'. I'm personally very thankful towards him for giving us close to 2 hour of his time.

'시티헌터'로 이민호군의 인간적인 진가와 함께 배우로서의 성과가 많이 알려지길 기대합니다...이민호군. 올해 꼭 최우수연기상 타실 거예요~ 파이팅!!! ^^

I'm looking forward to the result of his work in 'City Hunter'. LMH-goon, I hope you win the grand prize this year~ Fighting!!! ^^
