As for Park Min Young, there are people out there calling her the plastic girl and who disapprove of her because she underwent plastic surgery. There are pictures circulating on the Net of when she was really young and now. There was a picture of her when she was in elementary and she looks COMPLETELY different from now even if she underwent surgery. I do believe she did a nose job and double eyelid surgery as she admitted to, and honestly, how many Korean stars didn't undergo plastic to look the way they do? (Not everyone is like Shin Hye, looking so naturally beautiful!) I admire Min Young for being honest about it which shows she is a truthful girl, and most of all, she really didn't get to where she was because of her looks. Her acting skills are indeed superb!

Mandy Mandy I am so glad you are back Sis !!!!!!! Ive been a bit distracted with the Geunshin thread and spazzing over the CC CF which has helped me with my CH withdrawal symptoms and confused mind !

I do believe YS is alive bcz if he wasnt and it was just NN hallucinating then why would they show him driving at nightime?!! Its to follow the theme of the manga where CH is going to keep protecting the city and leaves us all begging for answers regarding him and NN !!!!
Im not too sure why YS's mum is wearing black as well but my theory is she could be paying her respects to NN's father passing away which is why she didnt wear white in her hair. I just still dont understand why they are going to the US bcz it will mean YS will be without any family.....

I was upset with the sudden halt in concluding YS and NN's r/ship as well and I think live shooting is to blame for it bcz there was such a time constraint to wrap the series up. The ring should have resurfaced or he should have just given NN the biggest hug and kiss !!!!!
But this could be bcz they are leaving options open in the future should they feel like CH 2 can be done

Mandy definitely give BOF a chance !!!! My friend watched the Taiwanese version years ago as well but I convinced her to watch LMH's version and she fell in love with him despite his curls hehe...U will get used to the hair and fall in love with Gu Jun Pyo !!
As for Personal Taste even though it didnt do very well in the ratings (which we all know doesnt account for everything!) I thought LMH did a great job and showed signs of maturity. I agree with you he has definitely outperformed himself in CH and I do believe Terence Chang will be contacting him soon to head for Hollywood !!!

Also watch Sungkyunkwan Scandal as thats where I came to know Park Min Young and thought she did a fantastic job !!!! She was so cute and strong and it was such a fun Series to watch
She did admit to doing the double eyelid and nose surgeries and I commend her for being honest. It is such a tough industry to break into and succeed in and for her it has been her acting and dedication that has been her reason for success !!

SBS' action series "City Hunter" ended its two month run this week, maintaining its spot at No. 1 on the Wednesday and Thursday primetime lineup for the fifth straight week.

Total National Media Research (TNmS) on Friday revealed that "City Hunter," starring Lee Min-ho and Park Min-young, posted an average viewership rating of 18.2 percent, while AGB Nielsen Media Research showed an average of 18.4 percent.
The last episode showed how the cold-hearted Jin-pyo (Kim Sang-joong) took a bullet which was meant for Yoon-sung (Lee Min-ho).

New SBS series "Protect the Boss," featuring Ji-sung, Choi Kang-hee, Wang Ji-hye and Kim Jae-joong, will take over the Wednesday and Thursday spot starting next week.

KBS' new series "The Princess' Man," starring Park Si-hoo and Moon Chae-won, held onto its position in second place with viewership ratings in the nine to mid-ten percentile range.

Meanwhile, MBC's "Heartstrings," starring Park Shin-hye and Jung Yong-hwa, continued to trail behind scoring viewership ratings in the five percent range.

"Kim Young-joo probably did too. Because he was his dad, since he was his dad. That's why he covered up and concealed [his crimes] for him. But do you think it really was for his dad?" Lee Yoon-sung (Lee Min-ho) ends up succeeding at getting revenge on his dad Choi Eung-chan (Chun Ho-jin). But not in his foster dad Lee Jin-pyo's (Kim Sang-joong) way but his own way. Not by killing or harming but by revealing his crime and getting him punished for it rightfully which is City Hunter's way. For Lee Jin-pyo, getting the five men punished was priority but for Yoon-sung, bringing change to society so that the tragedies like that on the sea of Nampo does not repeat itself was priority. This is only natural for Yoon-sung who regards "the trust that politicians, elected by the people, will engage in politics conscientiously" as equal to "the trust of the 21 people who would've waited on the sea of Nampo based on their country's promise." Because that is the only way he can keep defeat the monsters of the past century without turning into a monster himself.

Of course, it was a shame that the fathers had to commit political/physical suicide to make it possible for the show to see the clean ending where Yoon-sung did not get blood on his hands and one did not give up on justice for his love of his family. Choi Eung-chan knew what Yoon-sung wanted but he handed him the books on the corruptions himself and Lee Jin-pyo, who failed at getting revenge, died after taking the blame for his son's criminal charges when Yoon-sung cried out that he wants to live an ordinary life. There were times "City Hunter" got criticized for its lax portrayal of Yoon-sung's action sequences but the way in which the drama had truly lacked reality was that it did not show that fathers will willingly die fighting for their younger generations. However, this is understandable given that the drama showed the desire of the times instead of being devoted to portraying reality as it is. "City Hunter," which claimed to be the prequel of its original work, succeeded at portraying on a Korean hero of the year 2011 who tried to put a stop to the wrongdoings carried out by previous generations. So this man, who was raised for revenge, rid himself of all of his ill-fated relationships and returned to the city as a free citizen, not a monster, and we came to see a hero named Lee Yoon-sung, not Saeba Ryo.

Hi Tulipanns and to all Minoz fans!

I know what you mean! I have been distracted at the GeunShin thread too! 10 pages of responses in a span of a few hours!

It would be a miracle if there was CH 2 but how many series actually have a sequel in Korea? I want to say none...I wish there was just one more chapter or even a 30 minute special to clarify everything. I just won't be at ease for a while. But that was the whole purpose of the writers is to evoke controversy about the ending and allow us todecide on the ending. Full House was suppose to have a sequel but that does not seem to be happening and it's been a good 5-6 years now.

Anyways, all good things must end at some point and life has to move on. Who knows what will happen in the future, but I shall continue to support Lee Min Ho and hope the best for his career. I still would love him and Shin Hye to have a project some time in the future.

Oh yeah! I read about Terence Chang meeting with him! Didn't he talk to Min Young too? I'm excited that Min Ho has a chance to go to Hollywood. Mr. Chang must have been impressed by Min Ho in CH like the rest of us!

It's really crazy to think how Min Ho has developed as an actor over the last few years. In a span of 4 years, he has become Korea's most wanted actor and gained so much international recognition! Thanks to the BOF director!

And I have decided to give BOF a chance. What really bugs me most is in the Taiwanese version, I found the character of the main girl (San Chai or Jandi) to be annoying because she was always so mean to the main guy (Dao Ming See or Jun Pyo). I guess after having watched Nana, that is the type of character I like to see in women leads now - strong, bold, and decisive. However, I do want to watch Sungkyunkwan Scandal first. I've watched the BTS and some clips of the series and it looks really exciting. I also watched the 2010 KBS Awards Show where Sungkyunkwan Scandal swept away all the awards and where Min Young won for excellence award in her drama. ( I swear that Yoo Ah In has a thing for Min Young!) SS reminds me of YAB because it's one girl disguised as a guy amongst 3 guys!! It's the period version of YAB!

Anyways, Tulipanns, I've had such a good time talking to you about CH and Lee Min Ho for the last few months. I do regret not taking earlier interest in this thread but better late than never!!
Also, please keep posting news about Min Ho. I think he's currently working on a commerical with Im Yoona in Australia? Oh, and if you have all the links to the BTS of CH, can you please post it here? I would love to watch MinMin interaction again! I think I've seen most of it but I'm sure there are some I still haven't seen!

The star of City Hunter and the eye-catching king of CF (Commercial Filming) is back.

Actor Lee Min Ho is giving his best once again, and giving some shocking news.

Lee Min Ho just finish his SBS mini-series drama City Hunter (written by Hwang Eun Kyeong, directed by Jin Hyeok) and finishing them on the 20th episode. In one episode of City Hunter that approximately 80 minutes, Lee Min Ho is estimated to get 2.240 Million Korean Won in every 4 Billion Korean Won of the sales. After 20th episode, City Hunter is estimated to got 84 Billion Korea Won of revenue, so it could be counted that Lee Min Ho got approximately 4.800 Million Korean Won.

The City Hunter revenue doesn’t count the re-run of the series. City Hunter record a double-digit rating, and when it’s re-ran again on the weekend, it shows strong ratings and especially strong sales, it’s estimated that they got 20 Billion Won of revenue. So it could be said that they got approximate revenue of 100 Billion Korean Won.
South Korean Broadcast Station Official staff said ” Lee Min Ho the star of the drama could be the reason why the reactions for the drama is good from the beginning of the broadcast. On the timeline, it eventually has no.1 viewership record..”

Lee Min Ho is competing with 3 other dramas with popular rating on the different TV, but he achieved the “All Kill” title, beating the other dramas. Lee Min Ho that gain his big popularity from KB2 TV Drama “Boys Over Flowers”, he worth more for advertisement and dramas, and all of his advertisement is sold out. His other drama, MBC “Personal Taste” also gain a high popularity and gain a profit over that 60 Billion Won. But City Hunter just blow them all away.

Lee Min Ho is doing Hyundai Veloster advertisement when he’s doing City Hunter and being a model for Hyundai Motor Company also, makes him being the CF King.
