City Hunter’s Yun Seong finally learns of Lee Jin Pyo’s cruelty and becomes shocked

201107282242161001_1.jpg

In the last episode of SBS’s drama series City Hunter that aired on the 28th, Yun Seong (played by Lee Min Ho) became shocked when he learned the revenge that Lee Jin Pyo (played by Kim Sang Joong) was talking about was aimed toward Yun Seong’s biological father, Choi Eung Chan (played by Chun Ho Jin).

When Yun Seong discovered that Lee Jin Pyo has sent a message to Kim Young Joo (played by Lee Joon Hyuk) in Yun Seong’s name, he asked, “Why did you have to make such a lie to bring in Kim Young Joo? You are no more than a murderer who killed that innocent guy.”

Lee Jin Pyo replied, “Just like what had happened to my friends, innocent people can die. Chun Jae Man will die in my hand,” and Lee made it become true.

Moreover, Yun Seong came to read a top secret document and found out that the last person he had to terminate was Choi Eung Chan, his biological father. Yun Seong argued furiously, “So this is what it was all about, to make me kill my own father? This is what you meant for a cruel revenge? You took my mom away from me and made me believe that you were my dad for the last 28 years, and I believe you had enough fun.”

Yun Seong made it clear that he wouldn’t revenge Choi Eung Chan, but his decision weakens as he discovers Choi’s corruption.

Bonjour, "City Hunter" Fans! After waiting for days that seem like ages, it finally comes the "City Hunter" episode 19. Yeay!

On the last episode, we were left at the very peak point where the Prosecutor Kim Yeong-joo (Lee Joon-hyeok) took off our City Hunter mask. Will Lee Yun-seong (Lee Min-ho) be caught? The beginning of the 19th episode will absolutely blow your mind and start liking the Prosecutor (just like Da-hye (Goo Ha-ra) that turned to him
instead of Lee Yun-seong).

Thanks to Prosecutor Kim Yeong-Joo for letting the City Hunter a.k.a Lee Yun-seong goes and escapes from jail just in time before the military teams come. The Prosecutor even lies and says that he doesn't know anything about the City Hunter either his face or identity.

Even though it is shown that Mr. Cheon Jae-man (Choi Jeong-woo) has been caught, somebody (obviously a bad bad bad guy) in a black suit releases him. Mr. Cheon Jae-man shows his disgusting sly smile.

ch2.jpeg

On the next day, the two greatest men in South Korea meet (Yun-seong and the Prosecutor). When Yun-seong asks why the Prosecutor let him go, he dramatically says 'because the City Hunter has won over the law'.

ch3.jpeg

Meanwhile, Mr. Cheon Jae-man calls Yun-seong and offers him a 'great deal'. Just if the City Hunter would let him go, he'll give the Secret Document to the City Hunter. Whilst Yun-seong refuses, Mr Cheon Jae-man frustratingly describes him as a 'fearless and disrespect' fellow. Who will be trapped to your crafty tactic, Mr Cheon?? Obviously not our greatest City Hunter.

In this episode, it is asserted that Yun-seong is the President (Cheon Ho-jin)'s son. Prosecutor Kim Yeong-joo is the first who realized this fact through Cheon Jae-man's document titled ' SUNFLOWER ' and seeing a Sunflower painting drawn by the President (which is posted in the President's blog).

ch4.jpeg

The situation becomes worse when Yun-seong starts to take notice that something fishy is happening. First, the Mr Cheon Jae-man's assassin (still with his scary eyes, like always) who tells Yun-seong that after his master's visit to the President, he was obsessed with a woman that holds his one last chance to escape and survive. And her name is Lee….Kyeong…Hee. Lee Kyeong Hee?? Wait! Is that Yun-seong's mom? Yes she is. Yun-seong stares at the assassin's eyes in disbelieve.

Afterward, Yun-seong contacts a woman that used to be his mom's neighbor and she told him everything (through a bribe) that Lee Kyeong-hee (Kim Mi-Sook) was having a hard life and was likely to have a child with another man that was not his husband. In another word, extramarital affairs. BANG! This is it. Park Mu-Yeol (Park Sang-min) isn't his father. Then who is it? Yun-seong's mind was brought back to the memory when he was having a lunch with the President. And both of them don't like eating beans. Seems like every point refers to the President.

ch5.jpeg

Yun-seong rushes back to the hospital and asks his mom. She tells Yun-seong everything in a deep regret. That he really is the President's son. And how Mr Cheon Jae-man has threatened her to cover the fact for the sake of the President himself. She cries in an embarrassment and asks his son whether he is disappointed for having a mom like her. Like always, Yun-seong is the man. He just hugs her and says 'I'm not disappointed . I'm just thankful that you're alive'. He is the greatest! He asks his mom the last question, whether Jin-pyo (Kim Sang-joong) knows this fact. Her nod has made Yun-seong shock in disbelieve.

Yun-seong is crazily in shock and can't believe why Jin-pyo has raised him to be a weapon in the name of his father's revenge. Yun-seong feels that he is betrayed by Jin-pyo in his entire life.

ch6.jpeg

In the meanwhile, Soo-hee arrives at Prosecutor Kim Yeong-joo's place and receives a package. Inside there's the secret document that the Prosecutor has been frustratingly and curiously looking for. After knowing that the document is there, the Prosecutor quickly drives his car and comes back home. Unfortunately, whilst he is still on his way, Mr Cheon Jae-man's henchmen come, seize the document from Soo-hee (Hwang Seon-hee), and cruelly beat her.

When the Prosecutor arrives, he finds that Soo-hee is tied up and has a bruise on his face. He brought Soo-hee to the hospital and takes a good care of her.

ch7.jpeg

The prosecutor receives a text from City Hunter. Soo-hee tells him to go and she'll be waiting in the hospital. When the Prosecutor was about to leave, the entire action starts to be recorded in a slow motion. It really is a typical of Korean drama. It surely gives an impression that something is about to happen to the Prosecutor.

At his place, Yun-seong finally finds where Mr Cheon Jae-man is. He is hiding in the scrapyard.

ch8.jpeg

The Prosecutor comes there first. Unfortunately he was beaten in many places by Mr Cheon Jae-man's henchmen. But he does know where the document is. He tells Yun-seong through a text and locks himself with the henchmen in order to restrain them from chasing Yun-seong. South Korean must be really proud for having such a prosecutor.

ch9_2011-07-30.jpeg

Yun-seong comes to the place and performs his popularly known martial arts through kicks and punches. He receives the text from the prosecutor and gets the document (which is about to be destroyed!) on the time. He finally gets it on his hands.

Inside the hall, the Prosecutor is bleeding... suffering... and nearly loses his life. With his last breath, he tells Mr. Cheon jae-man that he, the Prosecutor of South Korea, will definitely arrest Cheon Jae-man. But at the time, one of the henchmen beats him in the head. Blood scarily streams down to his head.

ch9.jpeg

Yun-seong realizes that the Prosecutor must be somewhere inside. Instead of chasing after Mr. Cheon Jae-man, he quickly runs and looks for the Prosecutor. Yun-seong finally finds him dying with red fresh blood everywhere. The Prosecutor, with his last breath, tells Yun-seong that Mr. Cheon Jae-man escapes through the Harbour and asks Yun-seong or the City Hunter his last request. "Could you please forgive my father?" What a son! Still thinks of his father when he was about to die. Then he closes his eyes. Is he really died???

Surprisingly, the 19th episode rating is quite low comparing to the previous episode which gets the 1st rank. This episode sits in the 3rd place both in Seoul and nationwide. Still not bad though. But I believe its last episode will get more attention and achieve the 1st place for its one last time. Can't believe we have to say goodbye to our City Hunter soon. However, let's just wait and see how this beautifully-made drama is gonna end.

Spoiler Alert Content :1

Sisters I need to talk to someone about CH !! Where are you all?! have you finished watching Ep 20 yet!? I didnt check into this thread until I finished watching it last nite !!

Mandy I am exactly the same as you with watching great K Dramas and CH has left my heart all tight and lost now....I dont know what to think of th ending bcz it was left so open. I felt so sad when Yoon Ju died esp at his funeral when his boss said all those things and treating him like his own son. Then the angst between YS and NN's r/ship just made my heart ache...when NN saw YS being shot in the heart you could see her heart stop beating and dreading the fact she was going to lose YS forever. The tears by then were streaming....

Jin Pyo did the ultimate Father gesture by showing his love for YS saying he was CH and he committed all those crimes. Even though he isnt YS's biological father and used him to get revenge he will always be YS's father in YS's heart.

I dont know where NN was heading to at the airport when she saw YS but as promised he would come back to her alive !!!
I have so many questions regarding the ending like why is YS's mum and his Ahjussi going to live in America instead of staying by YS's side, will YS and NN stay together and will YS continue to be CH?!
There have been so many different POV's about the ending of CH but I think everyone did a fantastic job ! :-V

I loved CH and I loved Minho's peformance :luvluv:
All I had to do was watch his eyes and it spoke 1000 words like when he held the gun to his head, his bloodshot and teary eyes made me feel his pain......

Im really going to miss MinMin couple and I do sense that Minho may have developed feelings for Minyoung...who wouldnt she is soooo pretty and adorable and just his type ! that BTS with him staring at her is such an indication just like how Sukkie stares at Shinhye !
I will be rewatching and finding all the BTS for CH just like I did for YAB to help me slowly ease off CH else I dont know how I will cope!

CHBTS8.jpg

MinHo posted a pic of him with a CH figurine and thanked everyone for their support and to stay happy always ! Really hope he will get some well deserved rest before his next project ! Min Young has already been cast for her next Drama !

This is what I am doing now that CH has finished.....

Hi Tulipanns!
I'M HERE! I'M HERE! Finally, someone I can discuss the ending with!

SPOILER ALERT! To those who have not watched episode 20, do not continue reading!

I haven't watched it in English subs yet but I have watched it already in Chinese subs. For every episode of CH, I watch it at least twice, once in Chinese and then English as the Chiinese subs come out faster.:) Anyways, I guess I just want to avoid watching the open ending again because I can't take it.

So yes, I agree completely that the the ending is open and open to debate which I think the writers intended and WHICH I hate!!!!=X

My perspective is that Yoon Sung did not die and came back to Nana as he promised. However, with that perspective, there are many questions that are left unanswered. Like why is Ajusshi and his mom moving to the States? And in the last scene, the mom was wearing a black shirt which signified she was in mourning. However, the reason why I don't think she is mourning for Yoon Sung is because she did not have a flower in her head? Now, I'm not Korean so I am not sure how mourning traditions are but it seems like family members mourning for their family members usually put a white flower on their heads? Nana had a white flower on her head when she was mourning for her father? Someone who is Korean confirm? And then I also question where did Yoon Sung go after he got shot? Where is Nana going with her suitcase and WHY is she walking through a greenhouse? There was speculation that seeing Yoon Sung at the end was Nana's hallucination because they never had physical contact and she was just happy to see him have peace in his afterlife. I guess I don't buy that one. Another perspective was that Nana was bringing the suitcase to Yoon Sung because she was going to meet him but I don't buy that one either because if she was going to meet him, she would not have been surprised to see him and that brown suitcase is hers too.

So I want to believe that Yoon Sung miraculously survived the gunshot and came back to Nana because he is City Hunter. And actually, the VERY last scene was of Yoon Sung driving in his car. What does that mean?

My thoughts....
Overall, hands down to this series. The last Korean drama that captivated me and a sucked me it was of course YAB. And that has already been 2 years now. In the last 2 years, I haven't really watched any Korean drama because I haven't found any I really like. And then City Hunter came out. It was funny because as I said before, I was not really a fan of LMH prior to this series. I knew he was in BOF but at that time, I really was not attracted to his hair and I had already watched the Taiwanese version so I really didn't want to watch this plot again. Personal Preference I didn't watch either because I am not a fan of Son Ye Jin. City Hunter I decided to give it a shot because I was just feeling bored one day and man, I have just been following it like a dog every week for the last 2.5 months. I sincerely sincerely enjoyed this series. LMH's acting blew me away. Since this series, I have watched clips from his previous series and man, has he ever developed into a mature actor. Of course, I am a mega fan now of Park Min Young who of course I did not know either until this series. EVERYONE did so well with their acting in this series. I was crying at the scene of the funeral of Kim Young Joo. Although I was irritated at him for a while for constantly hunting CH, I liked him in the end because he helped CH. The plot was very captivating and constantly kept me on edge. The action scenes were magnificent especially since LMH did most of the scenes himself which I really admire. Everyone worked hard and I can see them getting many awards for this series especially since the ratings were really good.

What disappointed me was of course the love story between YS-NN. I felt that the writers killed off their love story as it ended. There was absolutely no physical intimacy between them by the end. In fact, in episode 20, I felt like their relationship was more strained. For me, I would have loved it if he showed her some affection because she deserves to be loved by him. She has supported him withouth hesitation after she found out he was CH! YS never gave Nana the ring, he never hugged her, and he didn't kiss her at the end so I was upset in that aspect. Ideally, I would have wanted to meet up again at the place where she askd him to and then he would give her the ring. Siigh. Couples hardly get married in Korean dramas.

Ok, so I've written an essay literally now. I just blabbed a lot but I hope more Minoz fans will offer more of their thoughts. :-V

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Min-Min couple. Hopefully, they work again some time in the future although they have history. They were in commericals before as well as in I AM SAM and both were part of the Hyundai Veloster campaign.:shy:
