Lee Jong-suk shares his favorite eatery on Chinese show

A candid interview with Lee Jong-suk on Chinese entertainment show “Stars from Korea” has been posted on Chinese video streaming website Youku.

In the interview, the hallyu star talked candidly about his favorite eatery and his passion and love for his career.

When asked about his favorite restaurant, Lee said he likes a place that serves kimchi jjigae – Korean soup made of kimchi and stewed pork – and pork cutlets in Sinsa-dong, Seoul.

“I’m more of a star than an actor,” said Lee, adding he hopes to be remembered as a legitimate actor. He explained his love and enthusiasm toward his acting career, saying he would like to play a person in ardent love or a scandalous person in his next play.

Q: Do you prefer cats or dogs?

A: Dogs. I had both before, and I like both, but dogs feel more loyal.

Q: For lovers, would you prefer someone you like or someone who likes you?

A: It will be best if it is someone who likes me, but to allow the both of us to interact well with each other, I will also have to like her and put in effort.

Q: Do you eat or sleep to relieve stress?

A: Eat

Q: When you are dining out and you find a strand of hair in your food, will you keep quiet or talk to the staff?

A: I will quietly let it pass. The hair probably got in their accidentally.

Q: You get a phone call from an unknown number. Do you answer?

A: I won’t answer.

Q: The green man is blinking when you are crossing the road. Do you run across or wait for the next green man?

A: Since it is blinking, shouldn’t I run…

Q: When you choose a movie to watch, do you watch something that has good reviews or something you like?

A: Something I like.

Q: When you eat ramyun, do you drink the soup or eat the noodles first?

A: Drink the soup.

Q: Among all your characters, if you can choose one to live on as, which would you choose?

A: A lot of the characters I played do not have a family. Hamyung in Pinocchio had a family. If I can, I would choose to live that life.

Q: You suit roles with the school uniform. Are there any roles you want to play next? (Someone shouted pilot)

A: I don’t want to play a role which requires skills which are too technical. I played a pilot before in my movie and for the role, I received a lot of physical training and training on the technical knowledge, it was hard on my body. I am already in my late 20s, if there are student roles it’ll be okay. If I can, I want to do something less taxing.

Q: What was your nickname when you were young?

A: I wasn’t popular among people when I was young, and also because I was tall, I often had the nickname along the lines of ‘pole’. When I was in secondary school, because my leg got injured, I rested for a while, and that was when my height suddenly grew.

Q: A girl you like walked past. What would you do?

A: (He threw the question back to the MC and asked what the MC would do. The MC said he would go and talk to the girl) I have an identity as an artiste. I will first look at the surroundings and the number of people around, then I will see where my manager is. If all these are okay, I will go up and say hi. (The MC asked what he will say and he said “Er…how old are you…do you have a boyfriend”)

Q: (They played a short clip of his Hawaii trip) Is there anywhere in Hawaii which you would recommend?

A: I don’t know. (He answered this really quickly. He explained that it was because he was following the location set by the team and sometimes he doesn’t even know where he is.)

– Jongsuk also said that he put on a lot of weight. He is 8 kg heavier now as compared to Doctor Stranger times. The fans said that they couldn’t tell. Jongsuk said softly that the fats grew at places they can’t see.
– The OP also said that during the FM, Jongsuk mentioned twice that he smokes, once when he was asked about what he would take note of when he has a kiss scene, and the second time when he explained why he got scented candles for the fans

I love K-drama casting rumors and speculations, so much fun to muse over the possibilities, and also to wonder what happened if it didn’t pan out. Were the rumors off, or did something behind the scenes scuttle the signing. A leaked compilation of upcoming dramas and in discussion leads is making the rounds and generating lots of buzz. No way to know it’s veracity until the newspapers later reporting on official casting offers, but those who like getting early dibs ought to be interested in checking this out.

The four photogenic male leads above are reportedly all coming back with dramas in late 2015/early 2016 so here goes: Lee Min Ho may be in talks for the revived drama adaptation of webtoon Let’s Have Dinner Together (Will You Have Dinner With Me); upcoming 50-episode MBC long drama Tyrant is reportedly courting Joo Won, Lee Jong Seok is considering a C-drama next, and Jang Geun Seok may stick with Japan in his drama return by doing a web drama called Boyfriend. Whew, this is a lot to digest even on possibility alone.

Joo Won aside, since he just finished Yongpal, the other three guys are due for a drama land comeback, especially Jang Geuk Seok who has been missing from television the longest. These casting possibilities are also quite plausible – Lee Min Ho doing a rom-com feels like the safest choice before he enlists in the military, Joo Won doing an intense period long drama is a big challenge in his growing resume, Lee Jong Seok may strike while the China iron is hot and follow many of his colleagues over there to do a C-drama, and it was always a long shot for Jang Geun Seok to do a K-drama since he’s still not as loved domestically as he is in Japan.
