FTIsland’s 5th Single Ranked 4th on Oricon Daily





FTIsland’s 5th Japanese single “Let it go” ranked 4th position on the Oricon single daily chart the day it was released (27 July), making a good start for the single.

“Let it go” is also selected to be the opening selection song for TV Asahi’s popular programme “Street Fighter” for the month of August. The song will be aired nationwide through this programme.

On the other hand, FTIsland is currently holding their “Japan Tour 2011 Summer Messenger” and will conclude their concert tour with the final stop at Japan Budokan on 29 July.

F.T. Island successfully concludes Japanese tour, “Summer Final Messenger”




F.T. Island have successfully concluded their Japanese nationwide tour, “FTISLAND Tour 2011 Summer Final Messenger“!

The tour began on June 29th in Nagoya and moved through Osaka, Tokyo, Fukuoka and many others, bringing in a total of 30,000 fans. Their finale drew 10,000 fans who created a sea of yellow with their specially prepared lightsticks. Kicking off the finale concert with “Brand New Days“, the band went on to perform “Itsuka” and “Let It Go“.

F.T. Island went through four years of performing as an indie band before making their major debut. Since this tour marked the culmination of their achievements over a year and two months, it was all that more special for both the members and the fans. Tickets had sold out in just 12 minutes of going on sale!

F.T. Island will be returning to Korea for a two-day “PLAY FTISLAND” concert on August 20th and 21st

FTIsland wraps up Japan tour

FTIsland has wrapped up their month-long Japan tour which attracted a total of some 30,000 fans, according to their agency FNC Music on Monday.

A press release by FNC said that the "2011 SUMMER TOUR~Messenger~" which kicked off in Nagoya on June 29 and also went to the cities of Osaka, Tokyo and Fukuoka, ended at the prestigious Budokan in Tokyo last Friday.

"Budokan has been a dream for us so its surreal that we actually got to perform here," the members of FTIsland were quoted as saying after the show.

They will now prepare for their Korea concert titled "PLAY FTISLAND" which will take place in Seoul for two days starting August 20.

Composed of members Lee Hong-ki, Song Seung-hyun, Choi Min-han, Lee Jea-jin and Choi Jong-hoon, FTIsland released their first album "Cheerful Sensibility" in 2007.

They expanded their career into Japan in 2008 with single albums “Flower Rock” which was placed at No. 4 on the daily chart and their fourth Japanese single "SATISFACTION," released in late April this year, came in second place with on the weekly singles chart.

Their first full-length album "FIVE TREASURE ISLAND" was the biggest hit, debuting at No. 1 on Oricon’s daily chart, after selling over 37,000 copies during its first week of going on sale and making it the first time in Oricon history for an international male artists’ first full-length release to reach the No. 1 spot on the weekly chart.

FTIsland created a new record in Japan, increasing their level of popularity in the country.

FTIsland performed on Fuji TV Mezamashi Live on 7 August for their first time and had the greatest number of audience since Mezamashi Live started. Though the audience capacity has been capped at 2,000 pax, a total of 40,000 people applied for entry to the show to catch the band’s performance.

They had about 10,000 fans gathered at Mezamashi Live, breaking the record of 8,000, previously held by Big Bang.

The band started the live with their latest single “Let it go”, followed by hit titles including “Flower Rock”, “Brand-new days”, “Boom Boom Boom” and many others, captivating the crowd with their performance.

FTIsland broke several records in Japan lately. Being the first overseas group of artiste to be ranked first on the Oricon weekly chart for their first album, they also held a sold out concert tour in 5 cities, followed by a solo Budokan concert, whereby tickets were snapped up completely within 2 minutes*.

On the other hand, FTIsland will be holding solo concerts at Ax-Korea on the coming 20 and 21 August. After which, they will embark on an Asia tour.

Korean rock band FTIsland performed at a live concert in Japan over the weekend, according to their agency FNC Music on Monday.

A press release by FNC said that FTIsland took to the stage at Odaiba of Japan for Fuji TV's "Mezamashi Live" on August 7, where they performed in front of 10,000 fans.

The five-member band wooed the crowd with their latest single "LET IT GO," "Flower Rock," "Brand-new days" and "Boom Boom Boom."

Recently, FTIsland wrapped up with month-long Japan tour titled "2011 SUMMER TOUR~Messenger~" where they visited several cities such as Osaka, Tokyo and Fukuoka.

FT Island's Jaejin reveals photo of '91-liners





FT Island's Jaejin recently uploaded a photo of idols born in 1991 posing together during the 2011 Incheon Korean Music Wave. He wrote, "It’s been a long time since the '91-liners met. Jinwoonie & Mir are missing!"

The idols gathered in the picture include SHINee's Key and Minho, KARA's Nicole, BEAST's Dongwoon, and FT Island's Jaejin.

MBLAQ's Mir tweeted to Jaejin about not being included in the photo, "These are... Might I suggest a cutout of Jinwoon and me? ㅠㅠ" Jaejin responded, "Sorry. We looked for you everywhere." Mir then joked, "I'll tell [2AM's] Jinwoon about this. -_-" causing an equally funny response from Jaejin, "Help us."
