Tickets for Korean rock band FTIsland's upcoming shows in Korea have sold out, according to their agency FNC Music.

On Thursday, FNC announced in a press release that tickets for FTIsland's concert titled "PLAY FTISLAND" to be held at Seoul's AX-Korea Hall on August 20 and 21 sold out within 10 minutes of going on sale yesterday.

"We have received many inquiries from fans about more ticket sales because they were unable to purchase them," an official from FNC was quoted as saying. "FTIsland is busy preparing various events and practicing for their concert."

Composed of members Lee Hong-ki, Song Seung-hyun, Choi Min-han, Lee Jea-jin and Choi Jong-hoon, FTIsland released their first album "Cheerful Sensibility" in 2007. The boys recently promoted title track "Hello Hello" from their mini-album "RETURN."

They expanded their music career into Japan in 2008 and recently had their first full-length album "FIVE TREASURE ISLAND" make its debut at No. 1 on Oricon's daily chart.

FTIsland is currently on their concert tour in Japan titled "2011 SUMMER TOUR~Messenger~" which began in Nagoya in late June. They have performed in Osaka and scheduled to take the stage in Tokyo, Fukuoka and Budokan.

FTIsland takes over music charts in Taiwan with "RETURN"

Korean rock band FTIsland continues to cause waves overseas, taking over the No. 1 spot on several music charts in Taiwan with their latest album.

On Friday, FNC Music announced in a press release that FTIsland's mini-album "RETURN," which went on sale in Taiwan on June 24, came in first place under the BEST SELLING COMBO ALBUM and BEST SELLING KPOP ALBUM chart during the final week of June.

The album also placed atop Taiwan's eZPeer+'s BEST SELLING KPOP ALBUM and BEST SELLING KPOP SINGLE chart as well as being crowned the winner on FETNet's BEST SELLING KPOP MOBILE RBT (ringtone).

"We were ecstatic to hear that we were No. 1 on several music charts in Taiwan," the members of FTIsland were quoted as saying.

"We want to thank all the fans for showing their love and support to us and we hope to return our gratitude through our music and upcoming concerts in the country."

The boys are currently on their concert tour in Japan titled "2011 SUMMER TOUR~Messenger~" which began in Nagoya in late June. They have performed in front of a full house in Osaka and Tokyo while they will take the stage in Fukuoka today and at the Budokan on July 29.

FT Island is working hard to learn Mandarin Chinese




FT Island has been gaining great popularity all around Asia, especially in Taiwan. Their mini-album, “RETURN,” was released on 6/24 in Taiwan and the members filmed a video clip to greet their Taiwanese fans, showing off their Mandarin Chinese. In order to promote throughout the country, the five boys spent 2 days helping the Asian media record about 49 other video clips to greet fans. Taiwanese fans also created a congratulatory video clip, leaving a message asking the members to watch the video. Hongki was moved and also retweeted the video in order to get more people to view it. He also revealed that the members are currently learning Chinese, and kept asking the Taiwanese fans to wait for FT Island.

FT Island recently celebrated their 4th year anniversary since their debut in June 2007. Vocalist Lee Hongki posted a tweet thanking their fans for supporting them the whole time. He stated, "Finally, today is the day for the 4th year anniversary, many things have happened since debut, along the way we have encountered many obstacles, we must become stronger afterwards. Must thank our Primadonnas (name of FT Island fans) who have been staying with us all this time, I hope we can stay together forever."

Recently, the band released their first mainstream album, “FIVE TREASURE ISLAND,” in Japan. During the first week after its release, it placed first on the Oricon daily chart with 37,000 copies sold and topped the Oricon daily charts. Although the 5 members are new in the Japanese industry, they are happy that their music is selling well. The members responded, "It's unbelievable! We thank our fans for the support. In order to perform better in the future, we will work harder!"

F.T. Island show their love for smartphone cases




Idol band F.T. Island revealed that they’ve got a mania for cartoon character smartphone cases.

On July 15th, all five members of F.T. Island revealed pictures of themselves holding their brightly-cased smartphones. It was revealed that the cases, which displayed illustrations from famous cartoons, were recently launched through an internet shopping mall, icasebook.

icasebook features cases by Adrian Smith (from the world-famous online games, ‘Warhammer‘ and ‘Warhammer 40000‘) and cases by artist Hyung Min Woo, who originally entered the Hollywood scene through the movie, ‘Priest‘.

FTIsland reveals their ”Beautiful Warriors” concept photos taken in collaboration with the fashion magazine “SURE”.
This issue of the magazine portrays the different images of FTIsland as well as the members’ excited looks as they drew out their sword and shield.

FTIsland new Japan single set as theme song for TV Asahi's show




FTIsland [FNC Music]


The title track to FTIsland's new Japanese single has been designated the opening song for a Japanese music program on TV Asahi.

FTIsland's official Japanese website announced on Wednesday that "Let it go!" released yesterday, will open music show "Street Fighter" which features amateur artists.

"Let it go!," their fifth single in the country, contains a total of four tracks including the instrumental version of the aforementioned song, "Dream Sky" and "Someday."

The album is being sold in three versions; version A with the music CD and DVD of the boys' from an event celebrating the release of their first full-length album in Japan, version B with the music CD and a DVD of the music video for "Let it go!" and version C with just the music CD.

Their first studio release in Japan, named "FIVE TREASURE ISLAND," had sold over 37,000 copies during its first week of going on sale in mid-May to make it the first time in Oricon history for an international male artists’ first full-length release to reach the No. 1 spot on the weekly chart.

More recently, they had held their Japan tour which kicked off in Nagoya on June 29 and was followed by shows in Osaka on July 2, Tokyo on July 6 and Fukuoka on July 8. The tour will wrap up at the Budokan on July 29.

They are now set to kick off a tour in Asia starting with a concert in Korea this August although the dates and countries for the rest of the tour has yet to be announced.
