Still images of CNBLUE's frontman Jung Yong-hwa on the set of his upcoming MBC drama have been revealed.
The show's promoter YTree Media released several photographs of Jung on Monday, showing the singer-actor as his character Lee Shin in the new Wednesday and Thursday TV series titled "Heartstrings."
"I felt that Lee Shin's personality was haggard and indifferent when I first read the script for 'Heartstrings,'" Jung was quoted as saying. "But the more I get immersed with my character, the more I'm feeling that the only reason he is that way is because all he knows is music but he is a warm and meticulous person on the inside."
"Heartstrings" tells the story of Lee Kyu-won (played by actress Park Shin-hye) who is studying Korean traditional music and an expert in gayageum (Korean harp), while Jung plays the role of Lee Shin, the lead singer of a band who wins over the hearts of all the girls on campus.
The series will be helmed by helmed by scenarist Lee Myung-sook and producer Pyo Min-soo whose previous works include hit melodramas such as “Full House” (KBS, 2004) and “Worlds Within” (KBS, 2008).
The show is scheduled to air on June 29 after ongoing series "The Greatest Love" finishes its run.
