[News] CNBLUE Charity Events in Japan (06.05.2011)





Popular band CNBLUE held a charity event at Pasifico Yokohama National Big Hall on 3rd June 7PM. Before the event start, Kang Minhyuk says at some article “We’re promoting our first full album First Step in Korea now. It’s been 5 months since our last time come to Japan. I felt nervous but very happy to meet Japanese fans”.

CNBLUE just released their first album “First Step” and repackage “First Step + 1 Thank You”. They filmed Intuition and Love Girl MV in Japan. On their first album, there are some Japanese songs that translated to Korea plus new songs.



Jung Yonghwa said “Now, I and Minhyuk were filming our new drama “You’ve Fallen into Me” that will be aired on 29th June. After this drama ended, I want to come to Japan to do live performance”.

When the reporter asked about what are they good at, Lee Jungshin answered “I think I’m good at making people happy”. Lee Jonghyun said “I’m good at sport”. Jung Yonghwa said “I’m good at being MC, haha. Also, I believe if I work hard learn about acting, I’ll be better later”. The last, Kang Minhyuk said while laughing “It’s doesn’t mean I’m good at sport also acting. I just want to do my best”.



Talked about charity event, Yonghwa said “We were shock when heard the news about earthquake in Japan. But I feel happy now can meet fans here. Even though there’s pain on their memory, I hope we can support them through our live performance”.

As mini live, they performed 13 songs, like Intuition and Love Girl. Though it’s been a while since their last live in Japan, all member look relax and in good mood. They always smile and show us good performance.



At this event, they talk and answer request from fans, do performance well also show us what they brought on their bag. Jung Yonghwa also talked about his new drama “You’ve Fallen into Me”. His role is a cool guy who study at Art University, doesn’t has interest in anything except music. “The atmosphere is good since I’m filming this with Park Shinhye and Kang Minhyuk”.

In You’re Beautiful, you played a one-sided love role, on the question of how similar it would be. Jung Yonghwa said while laughing, “I don’t know how will I develope in the drama, but this time my role is the opposite (from YAB role).”



Kang Minhyuk talked story about his eat scene, “My role is an innocent and nice person who likes eat much. I usually don’t eat a lot, but I have to eat a lot for the filming, so I thought I was gained weight but actually I didn’t, because I vomited it out all at the back”.

Last, Kang Minhyuk promised “I and Yonghwa will give our best for our drama. After it end, lets meet again at next live performance”.

CNBLUE holds second fan meeting in Japan

Korean rock band CNBLUE held their second official fan meeting in Japan last week, according to their agency FNC Music.

On Tuesday, FNC announced in a press release that over 5,000 BOICES [official name of CNBLUE's fans] attended the "CNBLUE 2nd Official Fanclub Event 2011~Welcome to BOICE JAPAN II~" held at the Pacifico Yokohama Hall on June 3.

The four-member band performed 13 songs at the event including "Intuition" and "LOVE GIRL" from their first full-length album "FIRST STEP" as well as talking with their fans.

"It feels like it has been a while since we have seen our fans in Japan," the members of CNBLUE said in the press release. "We were worried when we heard about the earthquake that occurred last March but we are relieved to see that many of you are safe. It's been five months since our last performance here and we will see you again at our concert."

CNBLUE, composed of members Jung Yong-hwa, Kang Min-hyuk, Lee Jung-shin and Lee Jong-hyun, made their debut in Korea early last with their hit single "Alone" and mini-album "Bluetory" after releasing two singles in Japan.

"FIRST STEP" is the group's first full-length album which sold over 150,000 copies in Korea alone and saw all 30,000 copies of its limited edition sell out in just a day of going on sale, as well as sweeping major music charts of Japan and Taiwan.

So far, members Jung and Kang are busy working on their upcoming MBC drama "Heartstrings" which will premiere later this month.

CN Blue Gathers 5,000 Fans!





CN Blue recently had their 2nd fan meeting in Japan after capturing the hearts of the Japanese since their debut.

The fan meeting, dubbed “CNBLUE 2nd Official Fanclub Event 2011~ Welcome to BOICE JAPAN II~,” was held at the Pacifico Yokohama National Hall. There were at least 5,000 members of CN Blue’s fanclub present at the event. Various media outlets were also present at the event, showing the band’s popularity in Japan.

CN Blue said, "It's been so long. While we were in Korea, we were concerned about the people in Japan after the earthquake and seeing you today makes us relieved. We want to give strength to those who have been affected by the earthquake through our songs today."

CN Blue made their debut as an indie band in Japan with the mini-album “Now or Never” in 2009 and they made their debut in Korea in 2010. The group has not announced any musical activities in the near future as Minhyuk and Yonghwa are working on their drama “You’ve Fallen For Me.”

CNBLUE'S HANDWRITTEN 'THANK YOU' MESSAGE TO FILIPINO BOICES










Despite having concluded promotions for their first official album, “First Step“, CNBLUE is still going strong overseas, as they recently topped two music charts in the Philippines.

This time, they’ve landed first in Astroplus and the Odyssey charts in the Philippines. According to ‘Astroplus’, “First Step” ranked in on their international chart, while ‘Odyssey’ revealed that the album was the sold most world album for the week of May 16th through the 31st.

The album was first released in the Philippines on May 21st, and fans were reported to have waited outside record stores by the thousands to purchase the album on the day of its release.

The members of CNBLUE commented, “We feel both amazed and glad that there are people who purchase our album in the Philippines. We promise to work hard to present better music.”

The boys were so happy about this that they sent this 'handwritten Thank You message' to their loyal Filipino Boices. It's written in Korean, but here's the English translation:

CNBLUE 2nd Official Fanclub Event 2011 Welcome to BOICE Japan II

Rock band CNBLUE held charity event for great earthquake “CNBLUE 2nd Official Fanclub Event 2011 Welcome to BOICE Japan II” on 3rd June at Pacifico Yokohama. About 5,000 people gathered at the venue. A sense of unity in the hall enveloped since the opening song “LOVE” played. They sing 13 songs, like Intuition, Love Girl, and Imagine from their new first album “First Step” that released on March.

Intuition, their promo song for their first album, got 1st place on Music Bank chart for 3 weeks. At the moment intro had flow, enthusiasm at the venue also heating up, that’s the first climax.

First, MC said Jungshin (19) wish “hearing news about earthquake make me worried. But, by seeing you all today it made me a bit relieve. I hope it can become your support”.

First Step is consists of Japanese songs that re-recorded in Korean. Yonghwa (21) said “I hope people can enjoy a bit different of Japanese songs in Korean version”. Like “KIMIO” and “Gomawoyo (a.ri.ga.tou)” that were sang in Korean and Japanese version. Many fans shed the tears, impressed of their first show in Japan.

Next is talk part. At Q&A corner, there’s a question “what would you do if you get a hundred million yen (around 13 hundred million won)? and Yonghwa answered “I will make broadcast station for band performance live”. Jonghyun (21) said “I will put it in bank. Then, I will make music comfortably”. All people at the venue laughed.

Surprising all members, there’s also corner to check their bags. Surprise, there’s Jonghyun t-shirt that he was looking for 2 months on Yonghwa’s bag. In Jungshin’s bag, there’s Minhyuk’s wallet and ipod.

At the end of event, Yonghwa gave message to fans “Sorry for not able to be by your side during the hard time. But, through our music, we always send our support. Hope you can understand it”.

They sang Try Again Smile Again. CNBLUE promised they will come back to Japan soon. They bring great excitement at the end.

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa & Minhyuk form a new band for “Heartstrings”





CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and Minhyuk have begun promoting as a new band for MBC’s upcoming drama, “Heartstrings“!

The two have come together for a fictional college band named ‘Stupid‘. Just like in their real life roles, Minhyuk will be the band’s drummer while Yonghwa takes the role of vocal and guitarist.

Fortunately, the boys already have experience as musicians and actors, so their new roles should be easy for them to settle into.

Minhyuk said, “I think I’m able to act more naturally because I’m acting as a band member, which I already am.” Yonghwa added, “There are a lot of scenes where I play the guitar so I’m able to act a lot more comfortably than before.”

“Heartstrings” will air through MBC at 9:55 PM KST on June 29th.

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa reveals that his ex two-timed him



CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa shared a painful love story from his past that resembled the one B2ST’s Kikwang shared on the same episode of “Night After Night“.

Yonghwa began, “I had a girl I really liked, so I made my moves on her.”

He continued, “I held her hand and after confirming her feelings for me, we were basically dating. I hadn’t asked her to be my girlfriend yet, but I was about to. One day, I came across her minihompy and saw that she had a boyfriend. Despite that, she acted like she liked me.”

He added, “I texted her saying, ‘How could you do this?’, and she just texted me back saying, ‘I’m sorry.’”

Yonghwa mused, “I could’ve asked her about her relationship with him, so I felt stupid for yelling at her. I was mad about the fact that I couldn’t contact someone I liked.”

A long time after, he found out that she broke up with her boyfriend and that she wanted to start anew with him, but his feelings were too hurt from last time to have the heart to try again.

It seems like these idol boys have had their hearts broken many times before.

CNBLUE addresses rumors about trashing peer-given CDs






CNBLUE has been ensnared in a rather unusual controversy. Rumors claim that the group were throwing out signed CDs from their fellow artists. Their agency, FNC Music, has just clarified that “These are nothing but ill-intended rumors that must have been started by a ’sasaeng’ fan.” A ’sasaeng’ fan is an individual who invades a celebrity’s privacy to stalker-level lengths.

The issue first came up on June 21st, when a netizen uploaded alleged photo evidence from CNBLUE’s trash. The artists whose albums were thrown away are only referred to as group “A” and group “B,” but both are apparently very famous and popular. Group “B” particularly drew a lot of attention because they are seniors to CNBLUE.

The netizen who created the post wrote, “I found these CDs in the trash outside of CNBLUE’s apartment some time around July or August of last year. I was very surprised to see that the albums had been thrown out; I knew that they were specialty items, and so I took them with me. I wish I had taken pictures of the scene for evidence, but I didn’t think of it at the time.”

Netizens who saw the post responded with harsh criticisms against CNBLUE, but fans of the group retaliated with “This has to be fabricated,” and “There’s no way that CNBLUE would do such a thing.”

Other netizens tried to mediate between the two sides by commenting that everyone should hold their comments until the company released an official statement about the matter.

FNC Music stated, “We saw the photo evidence, but there is no way that CNBLUE would do this.” They explained that the group always listens to and stores all gifted CDs in their personal workspace.

Whether or not this official statement will quell the rumors remain to be seen.

CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and Minhyuk spotted at “The Greatest Love” party









On June 23rd, the cast of MBC’s “The Greatest Love“ held a party to celebrate their last episode at a restaurant in Yeouido, and were met with a surprise appearance by CNBLUE!

As it turned out, the members were there eating dinner when they found ‘The Greatest Love’ team holding a farewell party. The group is coincidentally tied to the drama in a variety of ways - Yonghwa is the star of the drama’s follow-up series, ‘Heartstrings‘, as well as for SBS’s ‘You’re Handsome‘, which was written by the Hong sisters of ‘The Greatest Love’.

Behind-the-scenes pictures of their surprise visit were uploaded on MBC’s promotional blog, “Cupitter“. Just like the drama’s happy ending, the party’s fun atmosphere resonated throughout the restaurant, and filled it with cheers and joy.
