Hi sis @DOH. Nice to see you online now. Read your message and intended to reply in a while. May I know title of Jun Ho's movie? I still have to connect with a movie site. I think there's a fee to join. Thanks!

Sis@Sidy I checked out again the Wikipedia piece about Korean conscription it listed some of the celebs who avoided the service. The page does not mention model or exemplary men. I wonder. There are too many of them to list? While the not-so-good examples are too few they are easy to remember. And they serve as warning that if anyone tries to evade it he'll be in the news and worse, a Wikipedia page.
I hope when he finishes his duty Taecyeon will get mentioned in the updated version as a "model" army personnel. It's really quite impressive he gave up US status, and had couple of surgeries just to qualify.
Indeed it should be a plus, a badge of manliness to serve the army and to be discharged with good record.

Wow, this thread got active over the weekend. Thanks everyone for the information about the military. Just hope Taec gets back unscathed. It would be horrible if he got injured and can't be with his group. Then he will be only a businessman and maybe occasional actor. Scary! He's the type that will protect his fellow soldiers even if his life is in danger.

Hi ladies, it's Monday and I hope everyone is doing great and all survived a TMAD-less Friday :)

Thanks sis@DOH for the recommendation of Junho's movie, I will try to see it once I get a chance.

Sis@fgnuva, now without TMAD and Ok Bingu, I am not really watching any Korean drama, I have yet to find anything which interest me. I have a feeling that watching those dramas and other shows, I will not have that really heartwarming moments and times of laughing out so hard because of the presence of just three people, witty ad libs of PD NA, same location every week and just a group of animals that I am actually missing.

I am thinking tweets and comments made by fans will be funnier than some of the dramas (I friend who reviews Korean concerts always update me if there's interesting comments, either good or bad about Taec). Lately, I have been hearing and seeing a lot how Taec's being described as a "god", especially about his airport fashion.

I guess what they meant was a Greek god because of his physique, height and chiseled features? I don't know

Sorry if I scared some of you sisters about conscription in Korea. But the 2 Koreas did not sign a peace treaty but just an armistice so a possibility of a war breaking out is always there. Even today, news have it that despite a reunion at the border between families separated by the 1950s war, SK navy yesterday fired several shots as a NK ship strayed into its waters.

NK has one of the biggest army forces in the world while SK only has more than 600,000 and a few thousand American soldiers stationed there. SK military relies on the mandatory service to beef up their troops thus even after their mandatory duties, the able- bodied Korean men will still have to return to training I think every two years or every year for a certain period of time.

And I am not really worried about Taec being hurt while serving because he is in a good physical condition and still young, and he has a good head on his shoulder so I know he will excel. If he will be entering in 2017, he will just be 28 or 29 years old ( not his Korean age). Some of the actors entered the military in their 30s or even older thus they are much older than the other conscripts.

My concerns are the fans and entertainment industry. Taec will be gone for at least two years but their group 2PM will have a hiatus of perhaps four to five years as the other younger members will enter the military later. I wonder how the fans will accept them by that time? Are the fans will be able to wait for them considering how fickle the Korean industry is and younger boy idol groups keep debuting every year?

Even recently, some anti-fans called Taec "irrelevant" when he tweeted a message for that girl group who kept falling on their faces during a performance and he tweeted that giving a good performance was good but they should also think about their safety and health. He was accused of tying to get attention. I know 2PM's fame waned a bit in Korea when their company decided to concentrate the group's promotions in Japan but what more if the group will be out of sight for several years? Will the fans wait for them or will the industry still be interested in them?

These are the worries that haunt male entertainers who are at the peak of their careers but need to do their mandatory military duties thus some try to dodge it or even just delay their conscription which is also a danger as citizens will admonish them for it.

Normally for Idol groups, their agency will schedule their entry into military at almost the same time. That is why Taec changed his entry to 2017 so that Junho and Chansung will be 28 (Korean age) by then. Like SH they are called the early 90'er as they are born before March. Of course Nichkhun will not be serving and I think he will be doing his Solo album or something. Just like TVXQ now. YooChun and JaeJoong have entered and Junsu will do the same this year.

Depending on their physical check-up, they will be placed in different Government Department like YooChun who has asthma so he is not in active duty. Kim Hyun Joong is serving at the DMZ (Is it his punishment for the scandal with his ex-gf?)

Taec will be okay as he is capable of accepting harsh environment. 3MAD Season 1 was tough. Chansung will also be okay as he is like Taec and he is very good in sports. The only person who is not so ok is Jun K.

There are a few good dramas but it depends on individual taste. Shining Romance is the only drama I have seen that the lead actress is not weak and the villian actress gets caught all the time. Cunning Single Lady is enjoyable because Lee Min Jung and Joo Sang Wook are both silly at times. Two Mothers is a very long drama (102 ep). I hesitated to watch it so I started with ep 1 to 3 then skipped to ep 60 or 70 and I was attracted to find out what happened so I went back to the beginning and finished all 102 eps. I re-watched it too.
