Just finished watching the 2 parts of the documentary. It's a good 80-90 minute show... and it's well done too! The emcees and Taecyeon's descriptions of his experiences... explaining things to the hosts. And he wears that sad, almost worried look which the lady host kind of picks up. He seems to wear it the whole time... during the show.
In the documentary his light-hearted personal picks up when he takes the girl shopping, when he's talking to the boys in the mine (is that lithium?) and when he's meeting the kids in the school, and passing the tokens to them.
All in all the show was well-done...balance between the actual footages and the interview with the "eyewitness" (Taecyeon).
(Sidebar: He could very well pursue a political career or humanitarian kind of work. could he be a UN Secretary-General of the future? I'd say he'll definitely qualify. What do you think sisters @journoexpat, @yummiejeu, @sidy, @martchcec15, @avrylle, and other dear sisters reading this?)
I think you're right sis@journoexpat, it is a series, and the next one is with Son Ho-jun who appeared in 3 Meals. His documentary is set in Africa, I think.. and it's child labor still.
Hope everyone is safe and is having a good rest for the past week's labor. Happy week-end sisters!
I actually was able to stream the documentary continually because I was at the office and every time, someone would approach my workstation, I had to stop watching but thanks to your links sis@fgnuva, I was able to watch the entire docu.
My favorite part was when he wiped the boy's sweat using the end of the sleeve of his shirt and that boy's smile was shy but heartfelt as if it was the first time that someone did that for him. I am proud of Taecyeon for he was able to use his status as a celebrity to give attention to child labor in Bolivia, especially after its government legalized child labor in 2014, allowing a child as young as 10 years old to work legally.
But his documentary focused on the more hard labor for children: children in construction sites and children in the mine sites, which for me is the worst kind of child labor, specially if the use of dynamite is involved and with absence of proper gear such as masks, boots and gloves as the safety and health of the kids are seriously jeopardized.
I really wish that Taec will someday realize his dream of making a difference in the world by helping create awareness in some issues using his status as a celebrity.
