This is old article but it might still be relevant information if they are sticking to that schedule.
2PM members to simultaneously enlist in the army from 2017
Sep 15, 2014
The 2PM members revealed in a recent interview that with the exception of Nichkhun, all the other members will be enlisting in the army simultaneously for the mandatory national service.
Nichkhun is a Thai citizen so he reported back to Thailand in 2009 for the compulsory draft, but was then exempted from enlistment as the district where he resides already had enough voluntary draftees. The first 2PM member to enlist will be Jun. K, and he revealed that Taecyeon might enlist at the same time as him. But the opinions of the other members would have to be considered. If the enlistment dates of the 2PM members are too spread out, it would meant that fans would have to wait for a possible 6 years before seeing all of them together on stage again, and all of them would already be of old age by then at 35 years old.
Taecyeon said that 2PM has six members, and there are times when the group appears for schedules with a member or more absent. But those times would see the members appear listless, and it would be probably hard to bear if two and above were missing. So a possible solution to this issue would be to introduce a sub unit.
Wooyoung answered, “We would feel really lonely when our hyungs head off to the army. Junho is carving out a solo career in Japan, and it would feel empty with someone missing, so we really hope to fill the empty spot if possible.”
Taecyeon added, “Nothing is set in stone for now, but we often talk about this. We might all enlist together, or go off one by one. But we are going to do our best to ensure that 2PM stays relevant. Nichkhun won’t be enlisting regardless, so he is a definite shoo-in for the sub unit. Jun. K hyung will be enlisting in January 2017, and our schedules have been planned to that time. We had said last year that we would be simultaneously enlisting in 2015, but it’s not possible now as our schedules are all packed already until the year after the next. But we have plans to enlist together with him in the army regardless.”
Meanwhile, 2PM made a comeback on September 10th with their new album ‘Go Crazy,’ and they will embark on their world tour starting with Seoul on October 3rd.
